Well, hey there! Let’s yak about these new London movies, the ones they’re all goin’ on about. I heard tell there’s a whole bunch of ’em comin’ out, some fancy-schmancy ones and some, well, just plain movies, I reckon.
First off, they got this Lion King thingy, a “prequel” they call it. Mufasa, that’s the name. Sounds like somethin’ my grandpappy woulda watched, lions and all that. Then there’s this monkey musical, Better Man they call it. Says Robbie Williams is in it, the fella who sings all them songs. Beats me what it’s about, but monkeys singin’? That’s gotta be somethin’ different, I tell ya.
And don’t forget about that Sonic the Hedgehog feller. Number three, they say! My grandkids, they love that speedy little critter. Always zoomin’ around, just like them young’uns these days. I seen one of them Sonic movies once, lots of noise and flashin’ lights. Made my head spin, but the kids, they were glued to the screen.
Now, they’re sayin’ there’s 25 new movies you gotta see this winter. Twenty-five! That’s more movies than I seen in my whole life, I swear. One of ’em’s got that Timmy Chalamet boy in it, Wonka, they call it. Must be about that chocolate fella. Sweet tooth, that Timmy is. Then there’s somethin’ called Poor Things. Sounds kinda sad, don’t it? Hope it ain’t too gloomy, I like a good laugh now and then.
They had this big movie festival in London, the BFI London Film Festival. Big deal, they say. Movies from all over, playin’ in London and even ’round the whole UK. Don’t know much about that fancy stuff, but it sounds like they got a whole heap of movies to watch.
- One movie, a drama by some fella named Steve McQueen, it’s supposed to tell a new story ’bout somethin’ that happened. Sounds serious. I like them serious ones sometimes, the ones that make ya think.
- Then they got all these blockbusters comin’ to London. Big, loud movies, I reckon. Explosions and such. Good for a Saturday night, when ya just wanna turn your brain off and enjoy the show.
You know, folks always askin’ me what movies to watch. I tell ’em, “Watch whatever tickles your fancy!” You like them oldies? Go for it! You like them lovey-dovey ones? Have at it! You got kids? Find somethin’ they’ll sit still for, that’s the trick!
They got these London Screenings happenin’, showin’ off all the new TV shows too. Always somethin’ new, ain’t there? Hard to keep up, I tell ya. But hey, keeps things interestin’, I suppose.
Now, if you ask me what my favorite movie is, I gotta say Forrest Gump. That fella, he went through a lot, but he always kept his chin up. Football star, soldier, shrimp boat captain, he did it all! And he never let nobody tell him he couldn’t do somethin’. That’s a good message, I reckon.
So, there ya have it. A whole bunch of new movies comin’ to London, and some old favorites too. You wanna go see ’em? Go ahead! You wanna stay home and watch TV? That’s fine too! Just do what makes ya happy, that’s what I always say.
And if you wanna book them tickets, you gotta call that number, 020 7928 3232. Before the festival starts, they say. Eleven in the mornin’ to eight thirty at night. Don’t ask me what that means, I just tell ya what they tell me.
Anyways, gotta go now. Got chores to do, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll watch a movie later. Who knows, maybe one of them new London ones.
