Well now, let me tell ya, them horror movies, the ones startin’ with the letter “O”? They ain’t for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. I seen a few in my time, and let me tell ya, some of ’em, they stick with ya like a burr on a wool sock.
Scary stuff, I tell ya! Lots of them movies got spirits and demons and such. Makes ya wanna hide under the covers, even if you’re a grown woman like me. Some got curses, too. Folks gettin’ into things they shouldn’t, and then they pay the price, big time.
Then there’s them killers, the real nasty ones. Psychopaths, they call ’em. Maniacs too. They ain’t right in the head, that’s for sure. They do things… well, things you don’t wanna think about too much. But them movie makers, they show ya anyway. Makes ya wonder what goes on in some folks’ minds, I tell ya.
I remember one time, I saw this movie… oh, what was it called? Started with an “O,” I think. Had this… this thing in it. Not quite a ghost, not quite a demon. But it was evil, pure evil. It haunted these folks, chased ’em around. And the things it did… Lord have mercy. Gave me nightmares for a week, I tell ya.
- Gave me the shivers, that one did.
- Made my heart pound like a drum.
- Couldn’t sleep with the lights off for a month.
And them PG-13 ones, they ain’t always so innocent neither. They say they’re for the young’uns, but some of ’em, they still get under your skin. Evil forces closin’ in, they say. And it’s true! You watch these movies, and you start feelin’ like somethin’s watchin’ you back. Makes the hair on your arms stand up, I tell ya.
Folks been watchin’ scary movies since way back when. Like moths to a flame, they say. Don’t know why, exactly. Maybe they like the thrill, the chills. Maybe they like bein’ scared. Me? I like a good story, but some of them stories… well, they go a bit too far, if you ask me.
Halloween time, that’s when they really come out in full force. Netflix and all them other places, they got whole lineups of horror movies. They call ’em “thrills and chills.” More like heart attacks and nightmares, if you ask me. But folks eat ’em up, I tell ya. Can’t get enough of the scary stuff.
Some movies, they mess with your head. Psychological thrillers, they call ’em. They get you thinkin’ things, seein’ things that ain’t really there. And then there’s the supernatural ones. Ghosts and demons and such. Makes you wonder what’s really out there, in the dark.
You watch one of them scary movies, and your body, it knows somethin’ ain’t right. Your heart starts thumpin’, your breathin’ gets fast. You get goosebumps all over. It’s like your body’s sayin’, “Run! Get outta there!” But you just sit there, glued to the screen. Don’t make no sense, I tell ya.
I even heard tell of a movie about a family, and demons got a hold of ’em. Even had the police and a preacher involved. True story, they said. Scared the bejesus outta me, just hearin’ about it. Makes you think twice about messin’ with things you don’t understand.
And some of these movies, they even make fun of other scary movies. Like one they called “Scary Movie”, it poked fun at them other ones, like that “Scream” movie and the one about the summer. They even made fun of that one with the witch in the woods and the boy who could see dead folks. A bit silly, but still gave me a fright or two.
So, them horror movies startin’ with “O”? Well, they’re a mixed bag, I tell ya. Some are good, some are bad, and some are just plain terrifying. But if you’re lookin’ for a scare, well, you’ve come to the right place. Just don’t say I didn’t warn ya.
Be careful what you watch, I say. ‘Cause once you see them things, you can’t unsee ’em. And they might just stick with you, long after the credits roll.
