Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout this “Players” thing on Netflix, like them young’uns say. Folks call it a “rom-com,” whatever that means. Sounds fancy, but it’s just about boys and girls and all that mess, ya know?
So, what’s this “Players” all about? Well, it’s about this gal, Gina Rodriguez, she’s the main one. Her and her friends, they like to hang out in them bars, drinkin’ and talkin’… mostly ’bout gettin’ dates and, well, you know… other stuff. They got all these “plays,” like plays in a game, to get folks to like ’em. Sounds complicated to me, but that’s what they doin’.
Now, this Gina girl, she’s a writer, writes about sports. She spends all her time figurin’ out how to get fellas, but then, wouldn’t ya know it, she starts likin’ this fella she works with. Typical, right? Always the way. You spend all your time lookin’ one way, and then BAM! Love hits ya from where ya least expect it.
- Is there any… you know… nudity? Well, they don’t show nothin’, but them young’uns, they talk about it. A LOT. This one gal, she keeps braggin’ about all her… “adventures.” Kids these days, I tell ya.
- Is it okay for the young’uns to watch? That’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? I reckon it depends on how old your young’uns are. If they’re still wet behind the ears, maybe not. There’s a lot of talk about… well, you know… and drinkin’. Lots of drinkin’.
Now, about this Netflix thing. It’s got all sorts of stuff on it, good and bad. You gotta be careful what them young’uns are watchin’. It’s like a big ol’ candy store, but some of them candies ain’t good for ya, ya know? Lucky for us, this Netflix, it lets you put on some “parental controls.” That just means you can block stuff you don’t want them seein’.
How do you do that, you ask? Well, it ain’t rocket science, I can tell ya that much. Netflix, they made it pretty easy, even for an old woman like me. You go into the settings, and there’s a whole section for parents. You can set up different ages, so the little ones don’t see the stuff for the big ones. It’s like puttin’ the cookies on the top shelf, ya know? They gotta grow a bit taller to reach ’em.
You can make it so they can only watch cartoons or somethin’ if they’re little. And if they’re older, you can let ’em watch more stuff, but still keep out the real bad stuff. It’s all about choosin’ what’s right for your family. Every family’s different, and what’s okay for one might not be okay for another. That’s just common sense, right?
And listen, don’t you go feelin’ bad about puttin’ on them controls. These days, them screens are everywhere. Them young’uns spend half their lives lookin’ at ’em. It’s our job to make sure they ain’t seein’ nothin’ they shouldn’t. It’s like makin’ sure they eat their vegetables and don’t stay out too late. You gotta keep an eye on ’em, even if they don’t like it. It’s for their own good, even if they don’t see it now.
So, back to “Players.” It’s got its moments, I guess. Some laughin’, some cryin’, you know, the usual. But just be warned, there’s a lot of talkin’ about grown-up stuff, and lots of drinkin’. If you’re worried about that, then maybe it’s best to wait till them young’uns are a bit older, or just use them parental controls on that Netflix thing. That’s what they’re there for, ain’t it? To give us parents a little peace of mind.
At the end of the day, it’s up to you to decide what’s right for your family. But don’t be afraid to use them tools that Netflix gives ya. They’re there to help. And remember, a little bit of guidance goes a long way. Keep them young’uns safe, and make sure they’re watchin’ stuff that’s good for their hearts and minds. That’s all any parent wants, right?
