Alright, listen up, y’all! Let’s gab about these Spectrum new movies, you know, the ones they got on that there “on demand” thingamajig. My grandkids, they’re always fiddlin’ with it, watchin’ all sorts of stuff. Me? I just like a good story, somethin’ that makes me laugh or maybe cry a little, you know? None of that fancy-pants stuff with all the explosions and whatnot.

So, they tell me this Spectrum thingy, it’s got a whole heap of movies. New ones, old ones, all kinds. They say it’s like goin’ to the picture show without leavin’ your couch. Sounds mighty convenient, I reckon. Especially for an old woman like me, whose bones ain’t what they used to be. No more sittin’ in them hard theater seats for hours on end.

  • Now, what kind of movies are we talkin’ about here? Well, they got them “blockbuster movies,” my grandson says. Them’s the big, fancy ones with all the famous actors. I dunno, sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re just a bunch of noise.
  • Then there’s the comedies. Oh, I do love a good laugh! Nothin’ like a movie that makes your belly jiggle and your cheeks hurt from smilin’. They say there’s this fella, Will Ferrell, he’s real funny. And that Mark Wahlberg, he’s in some funny ones too. My grandkids seem to like them Daddy’s Home movies, always gigglin’ when they watch ’em. Might have to give them a look-see myself.
  • And of course, they got them dramas. You know, the ones that make you think and feel all sorts of things. Sometimes they’re sad, sometimes they’re happy, sometimes they just make you scratch your head and wonder what it all means.

Now, findin’ a good movie on this Spectrum thing, that can be tricky. It’s like lookin’ for a needle in a haystack, I tell ya. Too many choices! But my granddaughter, she showed me this thing called “JustWatch.” Says it helps you find the good stuff. It shows you what’s new, what’s popular, all that jazz. It even lines them up by how many folks liked ’em. That’s handy, I reckon. If a whole bunch of people like a movie, it’s gotta be pretty good, right?

They also talk about “Rotten Tomatoes,” whatever that is. Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in the garden, not on the TV! But apparently, it tells you if a movie is good or bad. Like a bunch of movie critics ganging up and givin’ their opinions. I don’t always agree with them fancy critics, but sometimes they point you in the right direction.

I heard tell there’s this movie called Short Term 12. Came out a few years back, they say. About some folks workin’ with troubled kids. Sounds like it might tug at the heartstrings a bit. Might be worth a watch. They also say there’s new free stuff popping up all the time. Trailers and shows, and whatnot. It’s like a never-ending parade of entertainment, I guess.

Honestly, all this technology, it’s a bit much for an old gal like me. But if it means I can watch a good movie without leavin’ my easy chair, well, I guess I can’t complain too much. Just gotta figure out how to work this darn remote control. And maybe get my grandkids to make me some popcorn. Now that’s what I call a good night in! So if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to watch, give this Spectrum thing a try. Just don’t get lost in all them choices, ya hear? And remember, a good story is a good story, no matter how fancy or plain it is.

Good movies to watch ain’t always easy to find, but with a little help from these newfangled gadgets and a bit of common sense, you can find somethin’ that’ll tickle your fancy. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it? A little entertainment to pass the time and maybe make you feel somethin’. So go on, grab that remote and see what’s on. You might just find your new favorite movie, even if you’re just an old lady like me who doesn’t know much about all this new stuff. And remember, a good laugh is the best medicine, so don’t forget to watch them comedies!
