Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this Rapunzel movie, or whatever they call it, Tangled. Yeah, that’s the one. I saw it with the grandkids, ya know, gotta keep ’em entertained. So, this here movie, it’s about this girl, Rapunzel, with the long, long hair. Real long, like down to the ground long. And this old woman, Mother Gothel, she keeps Rapunzel locked up in a tower. Why? Well, ’cause the girl’s hair, it’s got magic in it, keeps the old woman young, or somethin’ like that. Crazy, right?
Now, this Rapunzel, she ain’t dumb. She wants out. Wants to see the world, see them floatin’ lights she sees every year on her birthday. So, this thief fella, Flynn Rider, he climbs up the tower, and bam! Their adventure starts. It’s a Disney movie, so ya know, there’s gonna be singin’ and dancin’. And let me tell ya, some of them songs, they get stuck in your head. Like that one about seein’ the light? Yeah, that one. My grandkids, they were singin’ it for weeks!
- The story’s pretty good, kept me awake, and that’s sayin’ somethin’ at my age.
- The animation, it’s real pretty. Everything looks so bright and colorful. They did a good job on that, I gotta say.
- And the characters? Well, Rapunzel, she’s a sweet girl, a little naive maybe, but good-hearted. Flynn, he’s a charmer, a bit of a rogue, but he’s got a good heart too, deep down. Even that horse, Maximus, he’s funny! Always chasin’ Flynn, tryin’ to catch him.
They say this movie is Disney’s 50th cartoon movie, can you believe it? 50! That’s a lot of movies. And it’s one of them fairytale movies, like that princess and the frog one. I liked that one too. But this Tangled, it’s got its own charm. It’s funny, ya know? I laughed a few times, and the grandkids, they were gigglin’ the whole time. It’s a good family movie, somethin’ you can watch with the whole bunch.
They put a lot of work into makin’ these characters, I heard. Even gave Rapunzel a little overbite, somethin’ you might not even notice, but it’s there. Makes her more real, I guess. And that Mother Gothel, she’s a piece of work, lemme tell ya. Selfish old bat, keepin’ that poor girl locked up. But that’s how these stories go, right? Gotta have a villain.
Now, some folks say this movie ain’t nothin’ special, that it borrows ideas from other movies, like that Shrek one. Maybe it does, I don’t know. But I enjoyed it. It’s a fun movie, a feel-good movie. And ain’t that what we all need sometimes? A little bit of sunshine, a little bit of laughter, a little bit of magic? This Tangled movie, it’s got all that. So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to watch with the family, give it a try. You might just like it. And if you don’t? Well, ain’t no skin off my back. I already saw it, and I had a good time. That’s all that matters, right?
So, yeah, that’s my take on this Rapunzel movie, or Tangled, whatever you wanna call it. It’s a good one. Go see it. Or don’t. Your choice. I’m just tellin’ ya what I think. Now, where’s that remote? I think there’s a game show on…
Oh, and they gave some kind of award to Disney for this movie, or somethin’. Deserved it, I reckon. They did a good job.
