Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about some movies, the kind that get your brain juices flowin’, you know? Movies about folks makin’ somethin’ outta nothin’, hustlin’ and grindin’. They call ’em “entrepreneur” movies, fancy word for folks tryin’ to make a buck, I reckon.

Now, I ain’t no fancy movie critic, mind you. I just watch what I like. And I like seein’ people work hard and get ahead. So, if you’re lookin’ for some movies to watch on that Netflix thingy, the one with all the shows and movies, then listen up.

First off, there’s this movie about this fella, sellin’ them bone density scanners. Pursuit of Happyness, they call it. Real tearjerker, that one. This fella, he ain’t got nothin’, sleeps in the bathroom with his kid, but he keeps on sellin’, keep on tryin’. And you know what? He makes it. Shows ya that hard work pays off, even when things get tough. Real tough.

Then there’s this other movie about the fella who started that McDonald’s place, you know, the one with the golden arches? The Founder, that’s it. Now, that fella, he wasn’t always the nicest guy, but he sure knew how to sell a burger. He saw an opportunity and he grabbed it, even if it meant steppin’ on some toes. It ain’t always pretty, this business stuff, but it’s about gettin’ things done, I guess.

  • You gotta be tough.
  • You gotta be smart.
  • And you gotta be willin’ to work harder than anyone else.

Another one I saw was about them fellas on Wall Street, you know, the money place? Wall Street, the movie is called. Lots of talkin’ and shoutin’ and numbers flyin’ around. But the gist of it is, these fellas are tryin’ to get rich, real rich. And some of ’em do, but some of ’em end up in jail. So, I guess it’s a cautionary tale, too. Gotta be careful how you make your money, I reckon.

And then there’s the one about that fella who started that Facebook thingy, The Social Network. All them kids tappin’ away on their computers, makin’ connections. That fella, he had a good idea, and he ran with it. And now look at him, rich as a king. It just goes to show ya, sometimes a good idea is all you need.

But it ain’t just about the big ideas, you know. Sometimes it’s about the little things. Like that movie, The Intern, with that old fella goin’ back to work. He ain’t tryin’ to be the boss, he just wants to help out, to be useful. And he teaches them young folks a thing or two about work ethic and respect. That’s important too, you see. Respect and hard work, that’s what gets you somewhere.

There are others too, like that crazy one with all the yellin’ and partyin’, The Wolf of Wall Street. Don’t know if I’d recommend that one for the young’uns, though. Too much… well, you know. But it shows you what happens when you get greedy and lose your way. And that Jobs movie, about the fella with the computers and the phones. He was a tough one, that Jobs fella, but he sure knew how to make a good product.

So, if you’re lookin’ for some movies to get you motivated, to get you thinkin’ about makin’ somethin’ of yourself, then check out them entrepreneur movies on Netflix. They ain’t all gonna be happy endings, mind you, but they’ll show you what it takes to make it in this world. Hard work, a little bit of luck, and a whole lot of gumption. That’s what it takes.

And don’t forget, whether you’re sellin’ burgers or computers or just tryin’ to make a livin’, it’s all about findin’ a way to make somethin’ outta nothin’. That’s the American dream, ain’t it?

In the end, these movies ain’t just stories, they’re lessons. Lessons about workin’ hard, bein’ smart, and never givin’ up. And that’s somethin’ we all can use, no matter what we do.

Now, go on and watch some movies. And then get to work!
