Well, howdy there! Let’s gab a bit about them new movies at Redbox, shall we? I ain’t no fancy movie critic or nothin’, but I do love a good flick now and then, especially when I can snag ’em cheap from that there red box.

So, what’s new? Seems like there’s always somethin’ new poppin’ up, and keepin’ track can be a real pain in the neck, you know? But from what I hear, and what my grandkids tell me when they come visit, there’s some good ones out there.

Some of the Big Names

Heard tell of a movie called “Tenet”. Don’t rightly know what it’s about, sounds all fancy and complicated. Some fella named Christopher Nolan made it, and some fella named John David is in it. Guess it’s one of them action-y type deals, lots of explosions and such. My grandson, he likes that kind of stuff.

Then there’s this oldie, “His Girl Friday.” Now that’s more my speed. Made way back in 1940, with Cary Grant. I like them old black and white movies, they tell a good story without all the fuss and feathers of these newfangled ones. It’s a romantic comedy, I think, about a newspaper fella and his ex-wife. Sounds like a hoot!

  • Finding What You Want

Now, how do you find these movies? Well, it ain’t rocket science, that’s for sure. You can go on that there internet, on Redbox’s website or use their app on your phone. My grandaughter showed me how, it’s a bit confusing at first with all them buttons and such, but you get used to it. You can even sort them movies by what kind they are – you know, like if you want a funny one or a scary one. They call it “genre” or somethin’ fancy like that.

More New Stuff

They got movies like “Candyman” from 2021, that one’s supposed to be spooky. And “Dune,” also from 2021, about some desert planet or somethin’. Then there’s “The Suicide Squad,” another one of them action-packed superhero deals. My grandson, he watched that one and said it was pretty good, lots of shootin’ and explosions.

Why Redbox Anyway?

Now, some folks, they got all them fancy movie channels, like that “Netflix” and “Amazon Prime.” But me, I like Redbox. It’s cheap, and you get to go out and pick the movie yourself. It’s a bit of an outing, you know? Plus, sometimes them fancy channels don’t have the movies you want, especially the new ones. And with all them awards shows goin’ on, Redbox seems to get the good ones faster sometimes.

How it Works

Them Redbox machines, they’re just like big ol’ vending machines, but for movies. They got them DVDs and Blu-Ray discs, whatever those are. They got a bunch of movies in each machine, a whole carousel of them. Some machines are inside stores, some are outside, like at the grocery store. You just pick what you want, pay your money, and out pops the movie. Easy peasy.

Bringing it Back

Now, don’t you go forgettin’ to bring that movie back! You gotta return it by 9 pm the next day, or they’ll charge you more money. And if you keep it for more than three weeks, well, I guess you can keep it forever then! But don’t be doin’ that, other folks want to watch them movies too.

Why Them DVDs Might Go Away

Heard tell that them movie companies ain’t makin’ as many DVDs anymore. Seems they’d rather just sell their movies to them fancy channels like Netflix and Amazon. It’s cheaper for them, they don’t have to make all them discs. But I still like my discs, you can hold them in your hand, you know? It’s more real than watchin’ it on that internet thingy.

So there you have it, a little bit about them new movies at Redbox. Go on out there and find yourself a good one to watch! And don’t forget the popcorn!
