If it's set in the 1900s, why are they using loose-powder firearms? Self-contained cartridges had existed for over 40 years by then.

So why did they not just wait till the creatures left the boat and then get back on it so they could have weapons and food and a defensive perimeter I know it's a horror movie but still. Okay I guess they went back but they still could have used the explosives to free the ship from the ice
I like the premise but that's the problem with low budget movies the costumes aren't that great these were okay but the ship in the background there should have been hundreds of crew hands on that ship

Actually not a bad film. Was genuinely impressed. Was executed very well and the acting was suoerb.
That was so very good. Well written. With unexpected twists. The ship is beauty. I recognize her. Having used her as a set in such a unique film did her justice. She can be proud to have been party to something so quintessentially creepy. The acting rose above as did the music score and costumes. Except for the things that had to be for safety and preservation I couldn't find much fault although someone better educated than me might. The symbols on the obelisk were charming makes me wonder what innocuous thing they might actually say? Perhaps, "Do watch out. They can get a bit hangry." 🤭
Which brings me to my summary. It has been my most delighted pleasure to view your lovely piece of history inspired theater, set in the style Lovecraft, and brought to life with love and artistry. Thank you dear friends.

Oh, this was BAD. The historical incongruities were laughable – a Zippo lighter in the 1840s. The crew of a warship who had no weapons and no idea how to fight. A ship that would have required at least 250 men apparently only had 5. Just BAD
Wasn't expecting this one to be Lovecraftian.
Pretty good movie.
First 9 minutes 42 seconds these men are very honorable but stupid some of them but that's awesome humans very interesting.
