Well, hello there! Let me tell ya somethin’ about these new Christian movies they got in the theaters now. Don’t know much about fancy words or nothin’, but I know what I like and what feels right in my heart, ya know?
I heard tell there’s a whole bunch of ‘em comin’ out. Some folks call ‘em “inspirational” or somethin’. Sounds fancy, but to me, it just means they make ya think about God and doin’ right. And goodness knows, we need more of that these days.
Now, I ain’t seen all these movies myself. Heck, I barely get out to the Piggly Wiggly, let alone the picture show! But I hear things from my niece and the folks at church. They’re always gossiping about somethin’, might as well be somethin’ good for a change.
- One movie they’re talkin’ about is called The Chosen Season 4. Sounds like it’s about them religious leaders back in Bible times, always fussin’ and fightin’ with the Romans. You know, the kind of fellas that wear them fancy robes and think they’re better than everybody else. Probably makes ya think about who’s really followin’ God and who’s just puttin’ on a show.
- Then there’s this other one, God & Country. Now, this one sounds a bit… complicated. Heard it’s about how some folks get all mixed up about bein’ Christian and bein’ American. Like, they think God only loves this country and nobody else. That don’t sound right to me. God loves everybody, even them folks over in… well, you know, them other places.
- And they got them cartoon movies too! I heard tell of one with a fella named Idris Elba doin’ the voice. Don’t know who he is, but my niece says he’s a big deal. Anyway, it’s comin’ out in December and it’s from Paramount Pictures. Guess they makin’ movies for everyone now, even us old folks who like a good story and a laugh.
Now, some of these movies, they been out for a while, but they still good. Like Breakthrough, Miracles from Heaven, and Fireproof. Heard them are real tearjerkers, but in a good way. Makes ya remember that God’s still workin’ miracles, even today. And then there’s War Room and Overcomer, about fightin’ for what’s right and trustin’ in God to help ya through tough times. We all need a little bit of that, don’t we?
And don’t forget them God’s Not Dead movies. They got a whole bunch of ‘em now! Folks seem to like ‘em, though I can’t keep track of all the sequels. Seems like every time you turn around, they got another one comin’ out. Guess that means people want to see ‘em, and that ain’t a bad thing.
Then there’s Facing the Giants, Heaven is Real, and Soul Surfer. All different stories, but they all about havin’ faith and trustin’ in God, even when things get hard. And The Shack… now that one’s a bit different. Makes ya think about God in a whole new way. Some folks like it, some folks don’t, but it definitely gets ya thinkin’.
You know, sometimes I wonder why they make all these movies. Seems like there’s enough trouble in the world without watchin’ it on a big screen. But then I think, maybe it’s good to be reminded that there’s good in the world too. And that God’s still in charge, even when things look bad.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to watch that’ll lift your spirits and make ya think about somethin’ bigger than yourself, go see one of these Christian movies. Might just do ya some good. And if you don’t like it, well, you can always go get yourself some popcorn. That’s always good.
Anyway, that’s all I know about these movies. Like I said, I ain’t no expert. Just a… well, just a person who likes a good story and believes in the good Lord. And if these movies help folks do the same, then that’s a good thing in my book.
