Moana Movie Script: Read Along with Your Favorite Film

Alright, alright, let me tell you ‘bout this Moana movie, yeah? It’s a story ‘bout this girl, Moana, she’s like a chief’s daughter or somethin’. Real spunky, that one.

So, this Moana, she ain’t no ordinary girl, no sir. She’s got the ocean callin’ her, ya know? Like it’s whisperin’ secrets in her ear. And her island, this Motunui place, it’s got problems. Fish is disappearin’, coconuts is rottin’… real bad stuff happenin’. It’s like the island’s sick or somethin’. Everybody’s all worried and whatnot. They don’t know what to do, just lookin’ at each other like scared chickens.

Then, this grandma, she’s a bit… how you say… eccentric? Yeah, that’s the word. Eccentric. She tells Moana this story ‘bout a demigod named Maui. Big fella, tattoos all over, real strong, ya know? But also kinda… troublesome. Seems he messed up real bad a long time ago, stole somethin’ he shouldn’t have, and now everything’s gone to heck.

So, Moana, she figures, “Well, I gotta fix this mess, ain’t nobody else gonna do it.” She’s brave, that girl, even though she’s just a teenager. She gets on this boat, a real fancy one, and sets sail. Not many girls do that, ya know? Sailin’ off into the big blue ocean all by herself. Scary stuff, I tell ya.

  • First, she gotta find this Maui fella. That ain’t easy, lemme tell ya. He’s hidin’ somewhere, bein’ all grumpy and whatnot.
  • Then, when she finds him, he ain’t exactly helpful at first. Full of himself, that one. Thinks he’s all that. But Moana, she’s persistent. She don’t give up easy.
  • They go on this big adventure together, fightin’ coconut pirates – yeah, you heard that right, coconut pirates! – and big lava monsters and stuff. It’s like one crazy thing after another.

This Maui character, he’s got this magical fish hook. Powerful thing, it is. He can turn into animals with it, make islands appear out of nowhere… real magic stuff. But he lost it a long time ago, and that’s part of the problem. He gotta get it back to fix things.

Moana, she learns a lot on this journey. ‘Bout herself, ‘bout her ancestors, ‘bout the ocean. She ain’t just sailin’, ya know? She’s learnin’ to be a leader, a wayfinder, just like her grandma said she would be. It’s like she grows up right in front of your eyes.

And the ocean, it’s like… alive. It helps her, guides her, sometimes even plays tricks on her. It’s got a mind of its own, that ocean. Beautiful, but also dangerous. You gotta respect it, or it’ll swallow you whole.

Anyway, they finally get to where they gotta go, this Te Fiti place, I think it’s called. And there’s this big fight, real scary, with this lava monster. Maui’s fish hook gets broke, things lookin’ real bad. But Moana, she figures out somethin’ important. It ain’t about the fish hook, it’s about who you are inside.

So she faces this monster, not with fightin’, but with… well, I don’t wanna spoil it for ya, but it’s real smart what she does. And she fixes everything. The island gets better, the fish come back, everybody’s happy. And Maui, he learns a lesson too. He ain’t so full of himself anymore.

In the end, Moana goes back home, a hero. She’s not just a chief’s daughter anymore, she’s a wayfinder, a leader, a legend. And that’s the story of Moana. Pretty good movie, if you ask me. Got heart, got adventure, got singin’… what more you want?

So yeah, that’s the gist of it. A girl, a demigod, the ocean, and a whole lotta trouble. But it all works out in the end, like it should. And that’s why I like this Moana movie. It reminds you that even a little girl can do big things if she puts her mind to it. Now, go watch it yourself, see if I’m lyin’.
