Hey there, you young folks! Let me tell ya somethin’ about these Egyptian movies, the new ones they got now. I ain’t no fancy movie expert or nothin’, just a regular person who likes watchin’ a good story.
Now, these Egyptian movies, they got all sorts. Just like them other movies, you know? Some are funny, make you laugh ’til your belly hurts. Like them fellas slippin’ and slidin’ all over the place, reminds me of my grandkids playin’ in the mud after a rain. They call it… uh… slapstick, I think. Yeah, slapstick, that’s the ticket. And then there’s them quiet ones, the ones without all the talkin’. You just watch the pictures and you know what’s goin’ on. Kinda like lookin’ at old family photos, you see?
Then you got your lovey-dovey movies, the ones with the kissin’ and huggin’ and all that mushy stuff. Sometimes they’re sweet, sometimes they’re silly, but they always make you feel somethin’. And then there are the ones where folks are yellin’ and screamin’ at each other, fast-talkin’ and whatnot. They call it screwball, I heard. Sounds about right, ’cause them folks are always a bit screwy in the head, ha!
They even got movies that make fun of other movies. Can you believe that? They call it parody. It’s like when my grandson puts on my hat and pretends to be me, walkin’ around with a cane and grumblin’. And then there’s these other ones, they’re kinda hard to explain. Postmodern, they call ’em. They’re weird, but in a good way, you know? Like when you dream somethin’ that don’t make no sense but it feels real.
So, where can you watch all these Egyptian movies? Well, they got this thing called Netflix. It’s like a big ol’ store with nothin’ but movies and TV shows. You pay a little bit of money and you can watch whatever you want, whenever you want. They got old movies, new movies, all kinda movies. And yes, they got plenty of Egyptian movies too, and TV shows! They say Egyptian cinema is a big deal in Africa and the Arab world, been around since way back when, 1896 they say! That’s a long time ago, even before I was born!
- Action movies: You know, the ones with the fightin’ and the shootin’ and the car chases. They got plenty of those.
- Comedy movies: If you wanna laugh, they got movies that’ll make you laugh ’til you cry.
- Love stories: For all you romantics out there, they got movies about love and heartbreak and everything in between.
This summer, they got a whole bunch of new Egyptian and Arab movies comin’ out. All sorts of stuff, somethin’ for everyone, they say. You can find ’em on Netflix, or maybe on other places too, I don’t know. I just stick to Netflix, easy for an old woman like me.
And let me tell ya, they got all kinds of lists on Netflix. Lists of the best Egyptian movies, lists of the new ones, lists of the old ones. You can sort ’em by how popular they are, or by some other things I don’t understand. But it’s easy to find somethin’ to watch, that’s for sure. You can even find Egyptian movies on there from 2023, the best they say.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ new to watch, give them Egyptian movies a try. They got stories about everything, just like life itself. And ain’t that what movies are all about? Tellin’ stories and makin’ us feel somethin’? You go on now, and find yourself a good movie to watch. And don’t forget to tell your old grandma about it later, ya hear?

Netflix has a whole library, not just Egyptian movies. They got everything you can think of, movies, documentaries, cartoons, even them Japanese cartoons my grandkids like. You can watch all day and all night if you want, they don’t care. That’s what they say, “Watch as much as you want.” Sounds like a good deal to me.
