Alright, let’s gab a bit about this movie, “Up in the Air.” You know, the one with that fella always flyin’ around. They made most of it in a place called Saint Looie. Saint Louis, that is. Yeah, that’s where they did a whole heap of filmin’.
But they didn’t just stick to one spot, no sirree! They went gallivantin’ all over. They hopped over to Detroit, Omaha, that flashy Las Vegas, and even down to Miami where all them fancy folks hang out. That’s a lot of travelin’ if you ask me. Just like them fellas on the movie, always on the go.

Now, if you’re thinkin’ of makin’ your own movie, you gotta find a good spot, right? Well, you could go talk to the folks in charge, you know, the government people or the film folks. They might know some good places to film. There’s also these websites, where they show you all sorts of places you can use. Handy, I tell ya. Saves you a whole lot of trouble wanderin’ around aimlessly.
This “Up in the Air” movie ain’t the only one that went around filmin’ in different places, though. There’s this place, South Gippsland, and it’s real purdy. Got all that nice scenery. Folks been makin’ movies there for ages. TV shows too, and even them commercials you see on the telly. They filmed this show, “Something in the Air”, at a place called Nyora. Never heard of it, but hey, it sounds nice.
Then there’s this other movie, “Masters of the Air.” They filmed at some airfield in Hertfordshire, and they even changed up this old town, Hemel Hempstead. Made it look all different for the movie. Imagine that, changin’ a whole town! Filmmakers, they can do anything, I swear.
Speaking of movies, you remember that one, “The Sound of Music”? All them hills in Austria? Purdy as a picture, they were. And who could forget that “Hobbiton” place in Matamata? Seems like filmmakers like goin’ to all sorts of places to make their movies special.
Some folks even go visitin’ these places where they made the movies. They wanna walk where their favorite characters walked, I guess. Like that “Shire” place, that’s in Matamata too. People love that stuff. Me, I’m happy just watchin’ the movie on my TV. Less travelin’, you know.
So yeah, filmin’ a movie ain’t just about pointin’ a camera. You gotta find the right place, the right scenery. And sometimes, that means goin’ to a whole bunch of different spots. Just like they did in “Up in the Air.” It’s a lot of work, but hey, that’s how you make a good movie, I reckon.
And if you’re plannin’ on makin’ a movie yourself, remember what I said. Talk to the right people, look at them websites, and find yourself a good spot. Don’t just settle for any old place. Make it special! That’s what them movie folks do, and that’s why we like watchin’ their movies, ain’t it?
