Back to Earth, yea. Habitat great, breathable air, same kind of plants, … Most things says this is Earth with some time passed. And that explains why so many crew's on different ships landed there too. AI not giving correct designation is hard one too, because that knowledge would have altered the way they started to the fight. Almost everything would have been the same if you have known that this is the Earth. Hardly anyone wants to die, so moral loss would not likely happened. Ok, malfunctioning parameters (AI is still a human design) explains a lot…
Weird military approach. Know your enemy? In this movie not a single camo enemy was even touched after they died. It would have been nice to know if that technology would have been transportable to humans. And just to see what kind of aliens they were fighting against. This idea could be avoided by just saying "when they die they decompose themselves" plus adding a vapor cloud when they die…
With 320k years and alien technology, aiming still sucks? Even today's aiming tech would have given some edge for aliens that 99,9% of the time missed their targets. Turning humans to methane with one shot? Lolz. Perhaps to some sludge instead, but yea hard to do with low budget.
It's not likely that alien species that can travel to Earth would have these badly designed low damage rifles that humans can use and aim like our current weapons. Common mistake in almost all alien movies. It would be avoided by adding that even these aliens have been humans before that have traveled through a space anomaly that has thrown them back in time.
