Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting some window film for my place in Bradenton. It’s always so darn hot and sunny here, and I figure it might help keep the house cooler and save a bit on the electric bill.
I started by looking around online to see what my options were. I saw a bunch of different types of film, some for blocking heat, some for privacy, and even some security films that make it harder to break the glass. There are lots of choices, so I felt a little lost there!
Next, I decided to check out some local companies that do window film installation. I found a few places, like one called “Window Genie” and another “The Window Film Specialists LLC”. They both had pretty good reviews. I also found a company that does window films in nearby areas like Sarasota, so that seems like an option too.
I gave one of the companies a call to get a quote. They asked me about the size of my windows and what I was looking for in a film. I told them I wanted something that would help with the heat and maybe add a little privacy. They gave me a rough estimate over the phone, it was something around $5 to $12 per square foot, that does not seems too bad.
After that, I went to see the samples at their shop. They had a whole bunch of different films, in different shades and materials. They explained how each one worked, like how much heat they blocked and how much light they let through. It was kinda cool to see it all in person.
The guy at the shop told me that the film can block a lot of the sun’s UV rays, which is good for protecting furniture and stuff from fading. That’s a big plus, I don’t want to buy new couches every other year.
