You won’t believe what I heard! That Baldur’s Gate thing, the game everyone’s been yapping about, might be coming to Netflix! Yeah, that Netflix where we watch all them shows.
Baldur’s Gate on Netflix?
They say it’s gonna be a show, a live-action one, with real people and all. I don’t know how they’re gonna do it, that game’s got all sorts of creatures and magic. Maybe they’ll use them computer tricks, like they do in the movies. I heard it’s some big deal, this Baldur’s Gate 3. Won some fancy award, “Game of the Year,” they called it. Sounds important, right?
Baldur’s Gate 3 Release Date
Now, this game, it came out last year, in August, I think. August 3rd, 2023 to be exact, that’s what I heard anyway. Some folks got to play it early, but the whole shebang wasn’t ready until then. And that was just for them computer things. They say it came out for that PlayStation thing later, and some other contraptions, too.

But this Netflix thing, that’s new. They’re just talking about it now, some big website, Giant Freaking Robot, said so. So it ain’t for sure yet, but it sounds like they’re cooking something up.
What is Baldur’s Gate 3 About?
I don’t rightly know all the details about the game. I’m not big on games. Some say it’s one of them adventure games. You go around doing quests, fighting monsters, I reckon. They say you can be whoever you want in this game. A knight, a wizard, maybe even a goblin, who knows! It’s all set in this made-up land, called Faerun or something like that.
I heard there’s a whole mess of characters, and you can only have four in your group at a time. There is a lot of side things to do, so many people to talk to. It is a big old game, for sure.
There is some big story to follow too, like in them books. Some bad guys doing bad things, and you gotta stop ’em. Zhentarim, Red Wizards, Iron Throne, sound like a bunch of troublemakers to me. You gotta be careful of them, I bet. There are some good guys too, like the Flaming Fist and the Harpers. It is a whole thing.
And the people who made this game, Larian Studios, they’re some big shots, I guess. The boss man, Swen Vincke, said they are not making another Baldur’s Gate game. Said they want to do something new, something they’re excited about. Can’t blame them, I suppose.
Baldur’s Gate Netflix: What to Expect
So, if this Baldur’s Gate show on Netflix does happen, what will it be like? Will it be about the same story as the game? Will they have the same characters? Will there be a lot of fighting and magic? I don’t know, but it sure sounds interesting. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
It might be a while before we hear anything more. These things take time, you know. Making a TV show, especially one based on a big game like Baldur’s Gate, that’s a lot of work. But I’ll keep my ears open. If I hear anything, you’ll be the first to know!
I hope they don’t mess it up. A lot of folks love that Baldur’s Gate game. They wouldn’t want to see it ruined by some bad TV show. But Netflix usually does a good job with their shows, so maybe it’ll be alright. Only time will tell, I reckon.
