Well, ain’t this somethin’? They got all these new-fangled things these days, like that Netflix thing. My grandkids, they put it on my TV. Said I could watch all sorts of stuff. Movies, shows, you name it. Now, I’m 70, lived a good long while, seen a thing or two. But this Netflix? It’s got more movies than you can shake a stick at.
So, what’s a body to do when they wanna find somethin’ good to watch on this Netflix for 70 year olds? I’ll tell ya what, it ain’t easy! You gotta wade through a whole mess of things. Some of it’s just plain silly, not worth the time it takes to watch it. Some of it’s downright scary, and who needs that at my age? I ain’t lookin’ to get my blood pressure up, ya know?
Best movies for us old folks
But there are some good movies on there, I gotta say. Here’s what I been enjoyin’:

That one with the old lady and the old man, they go on a road trip. Reminds me of when me and my husband, bless his soul, used to travel. Always somethin’ happenin’, just like in that movie. That one made me laugh a good bit. Then it made me cry some, too. But it was a good cry, ya know? One of those feel-good movies.

Then there’s that other one, about the old fella who’s a war hero. Lordy, that one was somethin’ else. Reminded me of my uncle, fought in the war. Brave man. This movie, it’s got some fightin’ in it, but it’s mostly about how he deals with things after he gets back. It’s a good one to watch if you wanna think about things.

Oh, and there’s this one about a bunch of old ladies who live in a home together. Now, that one’s a hoot! They get into all kinds of shenanigans. Reminds me of me and my girlfriends, always gettin’ into somethin’. This one will make you laugh ’til your sides hurt, I guarantee it.

Then there are these shows about families. Now, I like those. Some are funnier, some are more serious. But they all show how families are. The good and the bad, ya know? Makes you think about your own family.

If you like learnin’ new things, there’s shows on there about all sorts of stuff. Like cookin’, animals, how things are made. Keeps your mind busy, that’s for sure. There’s even this one about these folks that go around fixin’ up old houses. That’s interestin’ to watch, seein’ how they make somethin’ old new again.
No senior discount
Now, I heard some folks talkin’ about how this Netflix don’t give no senior discount. Well, that ain’t right, I tell ya. Us older folks, we’re on a fixed income, ya know? Every little bit helps. But my grandkids, they share their account with me. They can have their own whatchamacallits, profiles, so everyone can watch what they want. It’s like havin’ your own little picture show right there in your house.
Easy to share with friends and family
Some folks say you can share this Netflix thing with your friends and family. That’s what my grandkids did. They put it on my TV and showed me how to use it. It ain’t too hard, once you get the hang of it. Just gotta remember which button to push. But there are many good movies for us old people.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to watch, and you’re around my age, 70 years old, give this Netflix a try. Just be prepared to do some lookin’ to find the good stuff. And if you got grandkids, maybe they can help ya out. They’re good with these new-fangled things.

We just gotta find the best movies, that’s all. There are many movies on Netflix. It is a good thing for us. You know, us old people, we deserve a good movie, just like everyone else. We worked hard all our lives. Now it’s time to sit back and enjoy somethin’. And this Netflix, it’s got somethin’ for everyone, even us old folks.
You know, back in my day, we didn’t have nothin’ like this. We had the radio, and then we got the television. But it wasn’t like this. We only had a few channels. And you had to watch what was on when it was on. Now, you can watch whatever you want, whenever you want. It’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. The best thing is you can find some good movies on there if you look hard enough. Just gotta be patient, that’s all. They got all kinds of movies, you can find almost everything. You know, sometimes I just like to watch somethin’ that makes me laugh. Takes your mind off your troubles, ya know?
This world, it’s a crazy place sometimes. Lots of things goin’ on that you don’t understand. But a good movie, that can take you away from all that. Just for a little while. And that’s a good thing. So don’t be afraid to try new things, even if you are old. You might just find somethin’ you like. Just remember what I said about findin’ the good ones. And if you need help, ask your grandkids. They will help you for sure.
