You ask me about that ura horror movie, huh? My old eyes ain’t seen a lot, but I tell ya, some things stick with ya. That’s like them scary movies. I don’t watch them much, but my grandkids, they gobble ’em up like candy. They say, “Grandma, you gotta see this one!” I say, “No way, Jose!” Keeps me up at night, those things.
But, that ura horror movie, that’s a different animal. That one’s got a real kick to it. Like a mule, ya know? Hits ya right in the gut. This fella, he’s lookin’ for some girl. Gone missin’. Poof! Vanished like a fart in the wind. And there’s blood, oh, the blood! Like a stuck pig, I tell ya. Makes my stomach churn just thinkin’ about it.
These young folks, they got all these new-fangled scary movies. They got the jump scares and the loud noises. But this ura horror movie, it’s different. It’s got that slow burn, ya know? Like a fire in the hearth, it creeps up on ya. Gets under your skin. Makes ya feel uneasy. Like somethin’ bad’s gonna happen any minute.
They say it’s like that old movie, “The Exorcist”. Now that one, that was a doozy. Head spinnin’ around, pea soup vomit… Lord have mercy! This ura horror movie, it ain’t quite like that, but it’s got that same kinda creepy feelin’. That feeling that somethin’ ain’t right. Somethin’ evil’s lurkin’ around.
Here’s what makes a good scare, in my book:
- Got to have a good story. Can’t just be blood and guts. Gotta have a reason for the scariness.
- Needs to be slow. Like I said, that slow burn. Builds up the tension. Like a pot of water on the stove, just waitin’ to boil over.
- Gotta have that feelin’. That somethin’ ain’t right. Somethin’s watchin’ ya. Somethin’s comin’ for ya. Like those international films that make it to our screens, they have it!
Nowadays the movies always have to be fast, fast, fast. This ura horror movie, though, it takes its time. It lets the scary sink in, gets under your skin. Like when you are alone at night, in the dark. Makes ya think about things. Things you don’t wanna think about.
My grandkids, they love them jump scares. Boom! Somethin’ jumps out at ya. But that ain’t real scary. That’s just startlin’. Real scary is that feelin’ you get in your gut. That feelin’ that somethin’ bad’s about to happen. This ura horror movie, it’s got that in spades. Like a field full of ’em. It’s like a nightmare, I tell ya. But you can’t wake up from it.
They say this ura horror movie is one of the scariest ever made. Now, I don’t know about all that. I ain’t seen ’em all. But I tell ya what, this one’s gonna stick with me for a while. And if you see it, vote it up as a good one! It’s gonna make me think twice about turnin’ off the lights at night. It’s gonna make me jump at every little noise. It’s gonna make me sleep with one eye open.
And that, my friends, is what a good ura horror movie does. It stays with ya. It haunts ya. It makes ya think about the darkness that’s out there, just waitin’ to get ya.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a good scare, give this ura horror movie a try. But don’t say I didn’t warn ya. It ain’t for the faint of heart. It’s for folks who like a good scare. A real good scare. The kind that makes ya sleep with the lights on. The kind that makes ya check under the bed. The kind that makes ya think, maybe, just maybe, there’s somethin’ out there, in the dark, waitin’ for ya.
That’s all I got to say about that. Just keep the lights on, ya hear? And if ya hear a bump in the night, don’t go lookin’. Just stay in bed, pull the covers over your head, and pray for mornin’.
