Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience with window film in Arizona:

So, I finally got around to doing something about the insane Arizona sun blasting through my windows. I mean, it’s beautiful, but it turns my living room into a freakin’ oven by noon. I’d heard about window film and figured, why not give it a shot?

Getting Started

First, I measured all the windows I wanted to cover. This was pretty straightforward, just grab a tape measure and jot down the width and height. Make sure you take measurement twice!

Then came the fun part – picking out the film. I was surprised by how many * have some different colors and styles! I want get better performance to keep heat out,so I chose the film that can keep heat out.

The Installation Process

Okay, time to get down to business. I gathered my supplies:

  • The window film, of course
  • A spray bottle filled with soapy water (I just used a few drops of dish soap)
  • A squeegee
  • A utility knife with a fresh blade
  • A clean cloth
  • Paper towels

I started by cleaning the * I use my spary bottle and cloth to clean it again!

Next, I sprayed the window generously with the soapy water. Seriously, don’t be shy with it. The wetter, the better.

I carefully peeled the backing off the film and sprayed the adhesive side with the soapy water, too. Again, lots of spray!

Then, I applied the film to the wet window. It slid around easily, which made it simple to position it just right.

Once I had it in place, I used the squeegee to push out the air bubbles and excess water. I started in the middle and worked my way out to the edges. This part took a little patience, but it was satisfying to see the film smoothing out.

Finally, I used the utility knife to trim the excess film around the edges of the window. I went slowly and carefully to get a nice, clean cut.

It wasn’t a super complicated project, but it definitely made a big impact. If you’re dealing with crazy sun and heat, I’d say window film is worth checking out!
