Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to make this “Cape Cod horror movie” thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. First off, I started by scouting locations, right? I mean, Cape Cod is huge. Drove around for days, checking out creepy old houses and whatnot. I stumbled upon this address, 2521 Cape Coral Pkwy W, that looked straight out of a horror flick. Turns out, it’s this big place, like 2,394 square feet, built in 2005. It’s in this Pelican neighborhood, which sounds nice, but this place had a serious spooky vibe.

Then, I started digging into the place. Found out it has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms – perfect for some good old-fashioned haunted house action, you know? I even did a reverse address lookup for it, trying to find out who lived there before. Got some names, but nothing too juicy, unfortunately.

Diving into the property hunt

  • Exploration: I started with a broad search online, looking for any houses for sale in Cape Coral that might fit the bill.
  • Narrowing it down: Based on the descriptions and photos, I made a list of potential properties, including the one at 2521 Cape Coral Pkwy W.
  • Site visits: I actually went to check out these places. Drove there, walked around, took pictures. The whole nine yards.

I also checked out some other places. Like, there’s this one, 2521 SW 38th St, it’s a bit smaller, 2,170 square feet, with 3 bedrooms. Then there’s 2521 NW 20th Ave, a 4-bedroom place, 1,757 square feet. But neither of them had the same eerie feel as the first one.

I did find another place, 2521 Cape Coral Pkwy Pkwy #73, which is massive – 3,642 square feet, 3 beds, 3 baths. It sold for a cool $1,125,000 back in February. That’s way out of my budget, but it got me thinking about the kind of story I could tell in a place like that.

Oh, and I found this one description of a house that sounded perfect: “This quality built, meticulously maintained 4/3, 3 car garage with 2400 sq. ft. of living home truly shows like a model and comes with all the upgrades you would ever want.” It’s not the exact one I was looking at, but it’s close. It gave me some ideas for how to describe the setting in my movie.

Anyway, I’m still piecing it all together. I spent hours on the web, just searching for images. The amount of stuff you can find online is crazy. I wanted visuals to inspire my story, you know? Creepy houses, dark rooms, that sort of thing.

So, yeah, that’s where I’m at with this “Cape Cod horror movie” project. It’s been a lot of driving, a lot of searching, and a lot of imagining. But it’s also been kind of fun. I mean, who doesn’t love a good scare, right? And the idea of turning all this into a movie? That’s just exciting. I’m still not sure how it’s all going to come together, but I’m definitely enjoying the process.
