Okay, so, I got this idea to make a dress like in that movie “Carrie”, the horror one. You know, the prom scene where she’s all covered in blood? That one. I thought it would be cool for a Halloween party or maybe just to freak people out. I’m no expert in sewing or anything, but I figured, why not? It’s just a dress, right?

Got the Stuff

First, I went to a thrift store to find a white dress. Didn’t want to spend too much on something I was gonna mess up anyway. Found a simple white gown, nothing fancy, but it did the job. Then, I hit up a craft store for some red paint. I grabbed a few different shades, just to be sure. Also got some brushes and a big plastic sheet to work on, because, you know, I didn’t want to ruin my mom’s carpet.

Making a Mess

Next step was the fun part. I laid out the plastic sheet in the backyard, put on some old clothes, and spread the dress out. I started by diluting the red paint with a bit of water, making it more like blood consistency, I guess. Then, I just went for it. Splattered, dripped, and brushed the paint all over the dress. It was kinda messy, but also really satisfying.

  • Mixed the paint, made it look like blood.
  • Splattered it everywhere, really went wild.
  • Used brushes for some parts, fingers for others.

Drying and Trying

After I was done making a mess, I hung the dress up to dry. Took forever, like a whole day. Kept checking on it every few hours, super impatient. Finally, when it was dry, I tried it on. Looked pretty good, if I do say so myself. It was creepy, for sure, but also kinda awesome. The paint had dried in a way that it really did look like, you know, blood stains.

The Result

So, yeah, that’s how I made my Carrie dress. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely something. I wore it to a party, and people were freaked out, in a good way. Some even asked how I did it. I just shrugged and said, “Oh, you know, a little paint, a little madness.” It was a fun project, and I’m already thinking about what crazy thing I can make next. Maybe something from “The Exorcist”? Who knows.
