Well, hey there! Let’s gab a bit about them movies over in New Martinsville, WV, y’know? I ain’t no fancy city slicker, but I do enjoy a good flick now and then. Makes a change from staring at them chickens all day, I tell ya.
So, what’s the big deal about movies in New Martinsville WV? It ain’t Hollywood, that’s for sure, but we got ourselves a picture show, Valley Cinema 3, right there in the plaza. Yep, 3 New Martinsville Plaza, that’s where it’s at. You can’t miss it, big ol’ building. They got all sorts of stuff there.
- They got your new movies, the ones everyone’s yapin’ about.
- Then they got them older ones too, sometimes. Good for when you missed ‘em the first time around.
- And popcorn! Can’t forget the popcorn. Salty and buttery, just the way I like it. They even got them video games for the young’uns. Keeps ‘em busy, you know?
Now, I ain’t too good with all this computin’ stuff, but I hear tell you can find movie times and what’s playin’ on somethin’ called the “Fandango”. Sounds like a dance, don’t it? But it ain’t. It’s where them young folks look up when the shows are startin’. They also got somethin’ they call “showtimes,” which just means when the movie starts. Don’t ask me why they gotta use fancy words for simple things.
I remember back in the day, you just showed up and hoped for the best. Now you can even get your tickets ahead of time, like you’re some kind of VIP or somethin’. Times sure have changed. But one thing that ain’t changed is wanting to see a good story up there on that big screen.
Folks are always lookin’ for the new movies in theaters near New Martinsville. Everyone wants to be the first to see ’em, I guess. Me? I don’t care much if it’s brand spankin’ new, long as it’s got a good story and maybe a handsome fella or two. A little bit of romance never hurt nobody, right?
They say one a them new movies, just came out on Friday, made a whole lotta money at the box office, whatever that is. Sounds like people were linin’ up to see it. Maybe I’ll have to mosey on down there myself and see what all the fuss is about. But I ain’t standin’ in no long lines. I got better things to do than that, like waterin’ my petunias.
Valley Cinema 3, that’s our local movie theater. It’s got three screens, so you got a bit of a choice, which is nice. They also got that concession stand, with all the candy and soda pop your heart desires. And like I said, them video games for the kids, so they don’t get to fidgetin’ and botherin’ everyone durin’ the show. It’s a real nice place, clean and friendly. The folks that work there are always smilin’, which is more than you can say for some places these days.
Sometimes, them movies got some strange names though, like that “Creature Commandos” one. Heard it’s one of them DC Universe pictures, all violent and funny they say. Not sure what to make of that, but it might be a hoot. I like a good laugh, long as it ain’t too dirty. I’m an old lady, you know?

Folks are always figurin’ out new ways to make things easier, I guess. Me, I still like talkin’ to folks and gettin’ the scoop that way.
