Okay, so today I wanted to snag some tickets to an advance movie screening in Chicago. I’ve done this before, but it’s always a bit of a scramble, so I figured I’d actually document the process this time.
First Step: Finding the Screening
First, I opened up my web browser. Usually, I just start by Googling something like “advance movie screenings Chicago”. I tried a few variations, like “free movie screenings Chicago” and “early movie showings Chicago”.
- I scrolled through a bunch of results.
- I saw a few sites that looked promising.
- Most of them were listing older screenings, not current ones. A bit frustrating!
Digging Deeper
I remembered that some studios have their own screening programs. So I started searching for specific studio names along with “screenings Chicago,” like “Warner Bros screenings Chicago,” “Universal screenings Chicago,” etc. Still mostly dead ends.
Then I thought, “Okay, what about local movie blogs or forums?” I tried searching for “Chicago film forums” and “Chicago movie blogs.” I found a couple of active forums and started browsing through recent posts.
I noticed some people mentioning specific theaters that often host advance screenings. I made a mental note of those theater names.
The Breakthrough
I went back to Google and typed in the name of one of those theaters, followed by “advance screenings.” Bingo! I found a page on the theater’s website listing upcoming events, and there it was – an advance screening of a movie I actually wanted to see!

I clicked on the link, and it took me to a ticketing page. It looked like it was being handled by a third-party site, which is pretty common.
Getting the Tickets
The ticketing page asked for my name, email address, and how many tickets I wanted. I filled everything out and hit “submit”.
Then It popped up a message saying, I can get a confirmation email soon and I will received my pass. Finally I got it!
It took me 2 hours to find and get my tickets. I hope it is helpful for you.
