Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this movie, Contracted. It ain’t your grandma’s Sunday picture show, that’s for sure. This here flick, it’s about a young gal, Sam, played by some actress Najarra Townsend. Pretty thing she is, but boy, does she get herself into a mess.
So, this Sam girl, she goes to a party, you know, like them young folks do. And somethin’ bad happens, real bad. Some say she got drugged, some say worse. Anyway, she ends up with somethin’…icky. They call it an STD at first, but let me tell ya, it ain’t no ordinary sickness.
- It starts off kinda slow, like a bad cold or somethin’.
- But then, things get weird. Real weird. Her body starts changin’, and not in a good way.
- Thinkin’ about it makes my stomach turn. It’s like somethin’s eatin’ her from the inside out.
Now, I ain’t one for them fancy words, but they call this here movie a “body horror.” And I reckon that’s ’bout right. It ain’t pretty, that’s for sure. There’s blood, and guts, and all sorts of nasty stuff. If you got a weak stomach, you might wanna steer clear. This movie ain’t for the faint of heart.
But you know, it ain’t just blood and guts for no reason. This movie, it kinda makes you think. It makes you think about what happens when you ain’t careful, when you trust the wrong people. It makes you think about how fragile we are, how easily things can go wrong.
Some folks say it’s like a zombie movie, but it ain’t exactly that. There ain’t no bitin’ and scratchin’ and hordes of the undead. It’s more…personal. It’s like the horror is happenin’ right inside Sam’s own body. And that, to me, is kinda scary, you know? It’s like you ain’t safe even in your own skin.
The actress, that Najarra gal, she does a good job. You can see the fear in her eyes, the pain she’s goin’ through. She makes you feel for her, even when things get real gross. And believe me, they get real gross. There’s this scene with her eye… oh Lord, I still can’t get it out of my head.
Now, I ain’t gonna spoil the ending for ya. But I will say this: it ain’t a happy one. This ain’t no fairy tale where everythin’ works out in the end. This movie is dark, it’s gritty, and it stays with you long after the credits roll. It’s the kind of movie that makes you wanna take a long shower and scrub yourself clean.
So, would I recommend this movie? Well, that depends. If you like your movies sweet and fluffy, then no, this ain’t for you. But if you like somethin’ a little different, somethin’ that’ll make you squirm in your seat and think about things long after it’s over, then yeah, give it a watch. Just don’t say I didn’t warn ya. It’s a rough ride, that’s for sure.
The folks who made this movie, they weren’t messin’ around. They wanted to make somethin’ that would shock ya, somethin’ that would stick with ya. And I reckon they succeeded. It’s a low-budget film, you can tell, but they use what they got to good effect. The special effects, they ain’t fancy, but they get the job done. And sometimes, that’s all you need.
All in all, Contracted is a disturbing, thought-provoking movie that ain’t afraid to get its hands dirty. It explores some pretty dark themes, and it does it in a way that’s both gruesome and strangely compelling. It ain’t a movie I’d watch every day, but I’m glad I saw it. It made me think, and it made me feel, and that’s more than I can say for a lot of movies these days.
