So, I’ve been digging into some movies lately, specifically those spooky ones set in New England. You know, that whole creepy, old-timey vibe they got going on up there. I’ve watched a bunch and thought I’d share my little horror movie adventure with you all.
First off, I started with a classic – “The Exorcist.” Man, that movie still freaks me out. Even though it’s from the 70s, it holds up. I watched it late at night, which was probably a mistake. I could barely sleep after that because I kept thinking about that poor girl and the demon.
Then, I moved on to something a bit more modern, “The Conjuring.” This one’s based on a “true story” so I figured it would be good. I found it pretty scary too. The whole haunted house thing is always a good setup. I watched this one with my buddy, and we both jumped a few times.
I decided to switch it up a little and tried “The Witches of Eastwick”. It was more of a dark comedy, I guess, but still had some creepy parts. It was kind of a fun watch, but not really what I was looking for in terms of pure horror. After that, I watched “The Resurrected” from the early 90s. This one was based on a Lovecraft story, and it was pretty good. It had that whole cosmic horror thing going on, which I’m a sucker for.
- Watched “Hocus Pocus” – It’s a classic, but more Halloween fun than horror.
- Gave “Altered States” a shot – It was weird, more sci-fi than horror.
- Checked out “The City of the Dead” – It was okay, a bit dated.
- Finally, I watched “The Haunted Palace” – Another Lovecraft adaptation, pretty spooky.
Honestly, I think diving into these New England horror flicks has been a blast. I discovered some old gems. It’s been a fun little project, and I’ll probably keep looking for more. There’s just something about that region that lends itself to good horror stories.
So yeah, that’s my little journey into New England horror movies. I enjoyed sharing it with you, I might do something similar again in the future if you guys like it.
