Well, let me tell ya ’bout this book movie review thing. I ain’t no fancy scholar or nothin’, just a regular person who likes a good story, whether it’s on paper or on that there TV screen. I seen a few movies lately, and some of ’em say they’re from books. So, I figured I’d give ya my two cents, ya know?
First off, they had this one movie called… uh… somethin’ about a “Deep Dive”. Yeah, that’s it. Deep Dive. They say it’s from a book too. Now, the movie, it was alright, I guess. It was about these two sisters, May and Drew, goin’ divin’ in the ocean. Scary stuff, lemme tell ya! Rocks fallin’ and one of ’em gets stuck way down deep. The movie, it was real tense, ya know? You could feel the sister’s fear, like she was really trapped down there. They did a good job makin’ it feel like you was right there with her, holdin’ your breath and hopin’ she’d get out. The sounds, they was somethin’ else, all that water rushin’ and rocks fallin’. Made my heart pound, it did.
But here’s the thing, they spent so much time followin’ the other sister, Drew, swimmin’ around tryin’ to help. Sometimes I forgot all about poor May stuck under them rocks. That ain’t right, ya know? If someone’s stuck, you gotta focus on gettin’ ’em out! But hey, what do I know? I’m just watchin’ the thing.
- Scary parts: Yep, lots of ’em.
- Sisters: One stuck, one tryin’ to help.
- Underwater: All that swimmin’ made me dizzy.
Now, this “Deep Dive” thing, it seems like there’s more than one story with that name. I heard tell of another “Deep Dive”, this one about some fella gettin’ a phone call from a rich guy. Didn’t see that one, just heard about it. Seems like “Deep Dive” is a popular name, like “John” or “Mary”. Everybody’s usin’ it!
Then there’s this other movie, or maybe it’s a TV show, I dunno. They call it “The Trunk” in some places, and it’s from a book too. This one, it’s Korean, I think. Got this fella, Gong Yoo, in it. He’s a handsome fella, even if I can’t understand a word he’s sayin’ without them words on the bottom of the screen. And that Seo Hyun-jin lady, she’s pretty as a picture. They’re both real good actors, even if I don’t know what they’re talkin’ ‘bout half the time. This story, it’s kinda mysterious, ya know? Secrets and such. They don’t tell you everything all at once, which is good, keeps you guessin’. It’s like peelin’ an onion, layer by layer, you get a little bit more of the story each time. That director, Kim Kyu-tae, he knows what he’s doin’, makin’ you wanna see what happens next.
So, what’s better, the book or the movie? Well, that’s a tough one. Sometimes the movie is good, sometimes the book is better. It just depends, I reckon. With that divin’ movie, the scary parts was real good, but maybe the book tells you more about the sister who got stuck. And with that Korean show, well, I ain’t read the book, so I can’t say. But the show, it’s got me hooked, that’s for sure.
Overall, I like watchin’ these movies and shows that come from books. It’s like gettin’ two stories for the price of one, ya know? And sometimes, if the movie’s good, it makes me wanna go find that book and read it for myself. See if they left anythin’ out, or if they changed things around. It’s all just stories in the end, ain’t it? And stories, well, they help us pass the time and maybe learn a thing or two, even if it’s just about divin’ in the ocean or secrets in a trunk.
One more thing, some folks call that “Deep Dive” movie a “science fiction thriller”. I don’t know ’bout all that fancy talk. To me, it was just a scary movie about bein’ stuck underwater. And that other “Deep Dive” with the phone call, they said it had some mystery in it. Mysteries are good, keeps your brain workin’, tryin’ to figure out who done what. And that Korean show, well, it’s got a bit of everything, I think. Love, secrets, maybe some sadness too. That’s life, ain’t it? A little bit of everything all mixed together.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to watch, give one of these book movies a try. You might like it, you might not. But hey, it’s worth a shot, right? And if you really like it, go find the book and see what it’s all about. You might be surprised at what you find. That’s all I got to say about it. Now, I gotta go make some supper.
