Today I want to share my experience at the Destinta movie theater in New Windsor. It was quite a day, let me tell you.
So, first off, I headed out to the theater. The address is 215 Quassaick Ave, New Windsor, NY 12553, easy enough to find. I checked the showtimes online beforehand, there were no movies playing at this theater today. But I wanted to go and see it anyway.
When I arrived, I noticed the theater used to be called “Destinta Theatres,” but now it’s “The Phoenix Theatres – New Windsor 12”. I guess they changed the name recently, seems like they are making some updates. That’s cool, I always like seeing places get a bit of a facelift.

- I did learn that they closed in early November for some updates, maybe that’s when the name change happened.
What I Found Out
I learned that they used to have this rewards program. Not sure if they still do, but it sounded pretty neat. The website mentioned something about it. I tried to find out more about the recent changes, but the information was a bit scattered.
It looks like, usually, they have about 20 minutes of trailers and stuff before the movie starts. That’s pretty standard, good to know if you’re planning a visit. But I did not watch any movie or trailers today.
Overall, it was a productive visit. I got to see the changes firsthand and gather some information about this local theater. I think it’s great that they are investing in improvements. I’ll definitely have to come back sometime to actually watch a movie here!
