Well, howdy there! You wanna make a horror movie birthday card, huh? Sounds spooky and fun! Let me tell ya, ain’t nothin’ too hard ’bout it. Even this old gal can figure it out, so you sure can too.

First off, you gotta get yourself some stuff. Don’t need nothin’ fancy, just some paper – maybe some black paper, that’s always good for scary stuff. And some scissors. You got scissors, right? Every good home’s got scissors. And glue! Can’t forget the glue, else nothin’s gonna stick together, and you’ll just have a pile of scraps. Oh, and some markers or crayons, whatever you got layin’ around. Kids these days got all sorts of fancy markers, I tell ya.

Now, you gotta decide what kinda scary movie you like. Is it the vampire kind, with the bitin’ and the flyin’ around? Or maybe the zombie kind, with all the groanin’ and the brain-eatin’? I ain’t too fond of the zombies myself, they too messy. Or maybe you like the ghost kind, with the spooky noises and the things that go bump in the night. That’s more my style, I guess.

  • Vampires: Think bats and fangs and maybe some blood. Not real blood, mind you! Just red marker.
  • Zombies: Green skin, maybe some missin’ body parts. Don’t get too carried away though, you don’t want to scare the little ones too much.
  • Ghosts: White sheets, floaty shapes. You can even draw some chains, if you like.

Once you picked your monster, you gotta draw it on the paper. Don’t gotta be no artist, just draw what you see in your head. Maybe a big scary face with big teeth, or a ghost with big eyes starin’ at ya. You can even cut out some shapes and glue ’em on. Like a bat outta black paper, or a tombstone outta gray paper. Just use your imagination, that’s what it’s for.

Now for the inside of the card. You gotta write somethin’ spooky, but also somethin’ nice. It’s a birthday card, after all. Maybe somethin’ like, “Hope your birthday is a scream!” or “Have a monstrously good time!” You know, somethin’ fun. And don’t forget to write the person’s name and how old they’re turnin’. That’s important, you don’t want them forgettin’ how old they are, do ya?

And then, you gotta decorate the inside a bit too. Maybe some spiderwebs, you can draw those easy. Just a bunch of squiggly lines. Or some bats flyin’ around. Or some drips of “blood”, you know, with the red marker again. Just make it spooky and fun.

But listen here, safety first! Don’t go around usin’ real knives or nothin’ dangerous. Scissors are sharp enough, you be careful with those. And don’t eat the glue! I know it smells kinda sweet, but it ain’t for eatin’. And make sure you clean up your mess when you’re done. Nobody likes a messy house, specially not me.

And that’s about it. Fold the paper in half, stick it in an envelope, and you got yourself a horror movie birthday card! See, wasn’t so hard, was it? Now go on and make someone’s birthday a little bit spooky and a whole lot of fun. They’ll appreciate you takin’ the time to make somethin’ special, instead of just buyin’ some store-bought card. Handmade stuff is always better, that’s what I always say.

And if you’re really feelin’ fancy, you could add some glitter. Everybody likes a little glitter, right? Makes it all sparkly and festive. Just don’t get it everywhere, that stuff gets into everything. You’ll be findin’ glitter in your hair for weeks!

So there you have it. Go on and get to craftin’! And happy birthday to whoever’s gettin’ this spooky card!
