NBA Hall of Fame inductee Dwight Howard has signed with Innovative Artists Entertainment.

The former NBA champion, Olympic gold medalist and eight-time NBA all-star appeared in films like the basketball rom-com Just Wright and The Equalizer 2, while also having TV credits like Black-ish, Never Have I Ever and The Odd Couple.

Howard also competed on the 32nd season of Dancing With The Stars, in the sixth season of The Masked Singer as a purple octopus and he finished third on the Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test reality competition series.

The former Los Angeles Laker also hosts the podcast Above The Rim with D12, where he often goes beyond sports to do sit-down conversations about culture and lifestyle issues. Howard, who played in the NBA for 18 seasons, is also developing a documentary with Hearst to recall his basketball career.

He continues to be represented by The Gym Agency and manager and business partner Mujaahid Abdul-Baasit. The duo are work on a number of ventures, including their Out of the Box production and media banner.

Howard’s signing follows Innovative Artists getting into the sports representation business by hiring veteran sports and entertainment attorney Brad Small. He brought clients including Jack Perry, Big Bill, and Anna Jay, and signed elite athletes like Olympic legend Greg Louganis and MMA star Ryan Bader.

In March, private equity firm Coral Tree Partners acquired a minority stake in the agency, which more recently also signed Mark Kerr, the former MMA championed played by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in Benny Safdie’s The Smashing Machine.
