Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya ’bout this here movie place, the one they call the “mountain home movie theatre”. Don’t rightly know why they call it that, maybe ’cause it’s near them hills or somethin’. Anyways, it’s where folks go to watch them pitchurs move.
Now, I ain’t no fancy city gal, so I don’t know all them big words. But I do know a good time when I see one. And let me tell ya, this here theatre, it’s somethin’ else. They got all sorts of movies. Big ones, small ones, some with lots of shootin’, some with folks singin’ and dancin’. You name it, they probably got it.
They show them new movies, the ones all the young’uns are talkin’ ’bout. And they show them older ones too, the ones we old folks remember from when we was young. It’s like takin’ a trip back in time, I tell ya. You sit there in the dark, munchin’ on your popcorn, and for a little while, you forget all your troubles.
I went there last week with my grandkids. We saw one of them superhero movies. Lots of things blowin’ up and folks flyin’ around. The grandkids loved it, of course. Me, I kinda liked the old-timey one we saw a few months back better. It was about a sweet gal and a fella fallin’ in love. Now that’s what I call a good story.
- They got comfy seats, which is good for my old bones.
- And the popcorn, well, it’s just the right amount of salty.
- They also got them fancy drinks, the ones with all the fizz. My grandkids love them, but I stick to my sweet tea.
Finding the place ain’t too hard neither. It’s over on Cooper Estates Drive. Just ask anyone around, they’ll point ya in the right direction. Heck, you can even call ’em up. Got a number and everything, somethin’ like 870-425-3900, I think. They’ll tell you what movies are playin’ and when.
Now, some folks say they watch movies at home now, on their computers or them fancy TVs. But it ain’t the same, I tell ya. There’s somethin’ special ’bout watchin’ a movie on the big screen, with all the other folks around. You laugh together, you cry together, sometimes you even jump outta your seat together. It’s like bein’ part of a big family, even if you don’t know nobody.

And this here theatre, they show all kinds of movies. If you like them shootin’ ’em up bang-bang movies, they got ’em. If you like them lovey-dovey ones, they got ’em too. They even got them scary ones, the ones that make you wanna hide behind your hands. I ain’t a fan of them scary ones myself. Give me a good laugh or a good cry any day.
They even got them cartoons for the little ones. My grandkids, they used to love them cartoons. Now they’re all growed up and watchin’ them superhero movies. Time sure does fly, don’t it?
So, if you’re ever in Mountain Home, Arkansas, and you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do, go on down to the movie theatre. It’s a good way to spend an afternoon or evenin’. Take the whole family, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the show. You won’t regret it. And if you see an old gal like me there, don’t be shy, say hello! We can swap stories about the movies we seen.
They got this here website too, where you can see what’s playin’. I don’t know much about them computers, but my grandson showed me how to use it once. You can find all sorts of stuff on there, like what time the movies start and what they’re about. They even got them reviews, where folks tell you if the movie is any good. But I always say, the best way to know if you like a movie is to see it for yourself.
So, there you have it. That’s my two cents on the mountain home movie theatre. It’s a good place, run by good folks, and they show good movies. What more could you ask for?
