Alright, alright, let’s talk about them surfing thingies on that Netflix, you know, the picture shows. I ain’t no fancy movie critic or nothin’, but I watch stuff, and I know what I like. So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to watch after a long day of, well, whatever you do, maybe these surfing shows will tickle your fancy.
First off, they got this “Blue Crush” thing. Now, this one ain’t like them silly surfer girl movies where they’re all just pretty faces and no brains. Naw, these girls, they actually surf! And they surf some big waves too. The movie starts right off with someone gettin’ wiped out, which, you know, shows you it ain’t all sunshine and rainbows out there on the water. Lots of pretty waves in this one, makes you wanna go to the beach, even if you just end up sittin’ in the sand.
Then there’s this “Surf’s Up: Wave Mania“. This one’s more like a cartoon, I think. My grandkids, they love that kinda stuff. I ain’t watched it myself, but hey, if it keeps them quiet for a bit, it can’t be all bad, right? It’s got waves, it’s got surfing, it’s probably got some goofy penguins or somethin’ too, you know how them cartoons are.
Now, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ a bit more… serious, like, they got this “North of the Sun“. This ain’t your typical beach movie. These fellas, they go way up north, where it’s cold and snowy, and they build themselves a little shack outta junk they find on the beach. And then, they go surfin’! Can you believe it? Surfin’ in the cold! Must be tough, but hey, they seem to like it. It’s kinda neat to see how they make do with what they got, reminds me of the old days, you know?
And speaking of serious, there’s a couple of documentaries, or whatever they call ’em. One’s called “Resurface“, and the other one is “Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable“. Now, I ain’t seen these ones, but I heard they’re about people overcoming tough stuff, you know, like, real-life problems. And they use surfin’ to help ’em out. Sounds kinda inspiring, if you ask me. Life throws you a curveball, you go catch a wave, somethin’ like that.
