Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here movie, Exeter. I ain’t no fancy movie critic or nothin’, just a regular person who likes a good scare now and then. So, here’s the lowdown, plain and simple.
First off, the movie looks real nice. Purdy pictures, you know? The folks who made it, they sure knew how to use the camera. Everything’s clear and bright, even when it’s supposed to be dark and spooky. The directin’, it’s good too. The story moves along pretty good, doesn’t drag on and on like some of them other movies do. Now, the actors… well, they ain’t the best I ever seen, but they do alright. They get the job done, you know? Passable, that’s what I’d call ’em.
So, what’s this Exeter movie about? It’s about a bunch of young folks, all hopped up on who-knows-what, havin’ a party in this old, creepy place. Used to be a crazy house, they say, where they treated folks real bad. You know the type – chains and needles and all that scary stuff. And let me tell ya, these young folks, they ain’t the brightest bulbs in the box. Always doin’ dumb things, makin’ bad choices. That’s how these scary movies always go, ain’t it? Kids are always doin’ stuff they shouldn’t.
- The movie is fast-paced, that’s for sure.
- Things are happenin’ all the time, keepin’ you on the edge of your seat.
- It’s one of them horror movies, you know, the kind that tries to make you jump and scream.
Now, here’s the thing. This movie, it’s got all the usual stuff you see in scary movies. You know, the dark hallways, the creepy noises, the things jumpin’ out at ya. They even make fun of themselves a little bit, like they know it’s all been done before. But that ain’t necessarily a bad thing, you know? Sometimes, you just want a good, old-fashioned scare, and Exeter, well, it gives you that.
But here’s where it gets tricky. These characters, these young folks in the movie… they are just plain annoying! I mean, really annoying. Every single one of ’em. They talk too much, they act all cocky, and they just keep doin’ dumb things. And that, well, that makes it hard to care about what happens to ’em. You kinda want them to get what’s comin’ to ’em, you know? And that makes it hard to be scared, ’cause you ain’t worried ’bout these fellers. They’re just plain obnoxious, that’s the truth.
So, would I recommend this Exeter movie? Well, it depends on what you’re lookin’ for. If you want a movie that looks good and moves fast, and if you don’t mind a bunch of annoying characters, then yeah, give it a watch. It’ll give ya a few good jumps, maybe even a scream or two. But if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ new and different, somethin’ with characters you can actually root for, well, then you might wanna look elsewhere.
In short, Exeter is a pretty movie with decent directin’ and okay acting. It’s got all the usual scary movie stuff, and it moves real fast. But them characters, they are a pain in the neck, and that takes away from the scariness a bit. It ain’t the best horror movie I ever seen, but it ain’t the worst neither. It’s just… okay.
And that’s all I got to say ’bout that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about crazy houses and jump scares has made me hungry!
