Well, ain’t that somethin’? You wanna know about movies like Sweet November? That movie, oh boy, it sure did make me cry buckets. That poor woman, fallin’ in love like that and then, well, you know… But it got me thinkin’, there’s gotta be other movies out there that make ya feel all warm and fuzzy inside, even if they make ya reach for the tissues, too.
Movies, you see, they’re like a good ol’ gossip session with your best gal pal. They make ya feel things, understand things. They’re like… like magic, I reckon. They call ’em “empathy machines” or somethin’ fancy like that. Means they help ya feel what other folks are feelin’. And that’s a good thing, ya know? Even an old lady like me can learn a thing or two from a good movie. Movies can make you laugh, make you cry, or restore your faith in humanity.
So, you liked Sweet November, huh? That’s a good one. A real tearjerker. But there’s a whole heap of other movies out there that might tickle your fancy. If you love that one, then here’s a list of some more movies that are just good for the soul, like a warm bowl of chicken soup on a cold day:
- City of Angels – Now this one, it’s about an angel fella who falls for a human woman. A real heart-string-tugger, this one is. Kinda like Sweet November in that way, where love and sadness kinda go hand-in-hand. But it’s beautiful, just beautiful.
- America’s Sweethearts – This one’s a bit more on the fun side. Got some famous folks in it, all mixed up in Hollywood stuff. It’s a good one if you need a little pick-me-up, something to make ya giggle a bit. I like it cause it shows that famous people, those ones we see all over, they can get all messed up in their lives. It’s comforting, if you get me.
- Then there are some other good movies that will surely make you cry but happy tears!
Now, I ain’t no fancy movie critic, mind you. I just know what I like. And I like movies that make me feel somethin’. Movies that make me laugh, movies that make me cry, movies that make me think. Sometimes I want something light, like a summer breeze, other times I need a good cry. There is one secret to be happy, but it depends on everyone. Just gotta find what makes your heart sing, I reckon.
That Sweet November movie, it really got to me. Made me think about all the love in my life, the good times and the bad. It is one of the best feel-good movies to me. Made me appreciate the folks I got around me, even if they drive me crazy sometimes. Love is what you need. Love is all you need. There’s a song about that, ain’t there?
See, movies can do that. They can remind you of what’s important. They can make you feel connected to somethin’ bigger than yourself. That’s why I like ’em, I guess. They’re like little windows into other lives, other worlds. Some folks might think it is silly for me to like so many movies, especially these romantic ones, but I don’t care.

So, if you’re lookin’ for movies like Sweet November, just think about what you liked about that movie. Was it the love story? Was it the sadness? Was it the way it made you feel? Once you figure that out, you can start lookin’ for other movies that give you that same feelin’.
There are all sorts of movies out there, just waitin’ to be discovered. Romance movies, funny movies, sad movies, adventure movies… You name it, there’s a movie about it. And each one is like a little gift, just waitin’ to be unwrapped.
So go on, find yourself a good movie. Grab some popcorn, curl up on the couch, and let yourself be transported to another world. You might just be surprised at what you find. And who knows, maybe you’ll even find a movie that makes you feel as much as Sweet November did. And if you do, be sure to let me know. I’m always lookin’ for a good movie recommendation. And don’t be stingy with the tissues. Sometimes a good cry is just what the doctor ordered.
Anyways, I reckon I’ve rambled on long enough. Just remember, life’s too short to not watch a good movie every now and then. So go on, find somethin’ that makes your heart happy. You deserve it. And don’t you forget it. I’m going to watch some myself. After all these years, I still can’t get enough of these good movies.
