Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout these here horror movie model kits. Now, I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I seen a thing or two, and these here kits, they’re somethin’ else.
You know, them horror movies, they always give ya a good scare. And these models, well, they’re like bringin’ them scary critters right into your own livin’ room! But not the real ones, mind you, just little plastic ones. Thank the good Lord for that!
I reckon there’s all sorts of ’em. Monster Horror Models, they call ’em. Big ones, little ones, scary ones, even some that ain’t so scary, just kinda goofy lookin’. You got your Classic Horror Movie Monsters, like that fella Dracula and the Wolfman. Them’s the old-timey ones, but they still give ya the shivers, you know?
Then you got the newer ones, from them fancy slasher movies. I ain’t seen too many of them, ’cause they’re too darn gory for my taste. But the young’uns, they seem to like ’em. They got models for them too, all bloody and whatnot. Not my cup of tea, but hey, to each their own, I always say.
- You can find these kits all over, I hear. Places like and even that place, they got a whole mess of ’em.
- And they ain’t always cheap, mind you. Some of them fancy ones, they cost a pretty penny. But then you got some cheaper ones, too, for folks like me who ain’t got money to burn.
- And get this, some folks even make their own! Can you believe it? Handmade pieces, they call ’em. Them folks are real talented, I tell ya.
Now, what do you do with these kits once you get ’em? Well, you gotta put ’em together, of course. It ain’t always easy, let me tell ya. Lots of little pieces, and you gotta glue ’em just right. And then you gotta paint ’em. That’s the fun part, I reckon. You can make ’em look all scary and realistic, or you can make ’em look silly, whatever you want.
Some of these kits, they’re so detailed, it’s like lookin’ at a real tiny monster. And some of ’em, they even got movin’ parts! Imagine that, a little plastic monster that can wave its arms and growl at ya! Okay, maybe they don’t growl, but you get the picture.
I seen some that are just the figurines, you know, just the monster standin’ there. And then there are some that got a whole scene, like from the movie. Like maybe Dracula standin’ in his castle, or the Wolfman howlin’ at the moon. Them’s the fancy ones, I reckon.
And you know, it ain’t just for kids, these models. I seen plenty of grown men, big ol’ fellas, messin’ with these things. It’s like they’re still kids at heart, I guess. Nothin’ wrong with that, I say. Everybody needs a little fun in their life, even if it’s a little bit spooky.
You can find all sorts of prices, too. I seen some for just a few dollars, and then I seen some for hundreds of dollars! It all depends on how fancy and how rare they are, I guess. And if they’re Very Rare Limited Classic Horror ones, well, then you better be ready to shell out some serious cash. Some even just digital downloads, now ain’t that somethin’? Digital Download Monster Attack, they call it. You just pay a bit of money and print it out yourself, then glue it together like the regular ones.
But you know, it ain’t just about the money. It’s about the fun of it, the joy of buildin’ somethin’ with your own two hands. And it’s about havin’ a little piece of that horror movie magic right there in your home. Even if it’s just a little plastic monster.
