So, the other day, I was just flipping through Netflix, you know, the usual, trying to find something decent to watch. I stumbled upon this movie called “Mending the Line”, and I thought, “Hey, why not?” I mean, the description mentioned something about wounded warriors and fly fishing, and that sounded kind of interesting.
I started watching it. It’s directed by some guy named Joshua Caldwell, and the writing credits go to Stephen Camelio. The main actors are Sinqua Walls, Brian Cox, and Perry Mattfeld. Honestly, I hadn’t heard of most of them, but that’s okay.
The film starts, and you see, it’s all about these two veterans. They’re both dealing with some heavy stuff, you know, the kind of scars you get from war. It’s not all graphic and in-your-face, but you can tell they’re struggling.
The whole fly fishing thing comes in as a way for them to heal. It’s kind of like therapy, but in nature. One of the vets, he’s older, and he’s teaching this younger guy how to fly fish. I guess it’s supposed to be calming and help them deal with their PTSD.
I watched the whole thing, and you know what? It wasn’t half bad. It’s not an action-packed thriller or anything, more like a slow burn. It really makes you think about what soldiers go through, and how hard it is to come back from that.
It got me thinking about other movies about fly fishing. I wonder if there are more on Netflix? I might have to do some digging.
- Started watching a movie on Netflix.
- Found the movie “Mending the Line”.
- Watched the movie about veterans and fly fishing.
- Thought about the movie’s message.
- Decided to look for more fly fishing movies on Netflix.
Anyway, if you’re looking for something a little different, a little quieter, you might want to check out “Mending the Line”. It’s definitely not your typical Netflix fare, but it’s worth a watch, I think. Now, I’m off to see what else I can find on this fly fishing thing.
Thoughts on Fly Fishing Movies
Now I’m wondering if there are any other hidden gems about fly fishing on Netflix. I guess I’ll have to dive back into the endless sea of content and see what I can find. Maybe I’ll strike gold, or maybe I’ll just end up watching something completely unrelated. That’s the beauty of Netflix, right? You never know what you’re gonna get. I’ll keep you posted if I find anything interesting!
