Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about this Garfield movie, the new one, ya know, for the kids. I seen it with my grandkids, the little rascals, and I gotta tell ya, it ain’t half bad. Now, I ain’t no fancy movie critic or nothin’, but I know what’s what when it comes to keepin’ the little ‘uns entertained.

First off, this Garfield, he’s a cat, a big ol’ orange fella, and lazy as a hog in mud. He loves eatin’, sleepin’, and watchin’ TV. Sounds like my husband, ha! But this cat, he gets into all sorts of adventures. The movie, it starts when he’s just a little kitten, poor thing, his daddy just up and leaves him. Can you believe that? Leaves a little kitty all alone. Made me wanna cry, it did.

Anyways, this daddy cat, Vic, they call him, he’s voiced by that Samuel L. Jackson fella, you know, the one with the loud voice? He’s a tough outdoor cat, not like Garfield, who likes his comfy life. But then there’s this other cat, Chris Pratt, he does the voice for Garfield. He’s pretty good, makes Garfield sound funny and kinda sweet, even when he’s bein’ a grumpy ol’ cat.

What’s the movie about? Well, it’s about Garfield gettin’ mixed up with this dog, Odie. Now, Odie ain’t the brightest bulb, bless his heart, but he’s loyal and loves Garfield. They go on this big adventure, somethin’ about Vic comin’ back and them gettin’ into trouble. There’s some bad guys too, but they ain’t too scary, even for the little kids.

  • Is it good for kids? Yep, I’d say so. My grandkids, they loved it. They was laughin’ and gigglin’ the whole time. There’s some silly stuff, like a whoopee cushion and a dog drinkin’ outta the toilet, you know, kid stuff. But nothin’ too bad. No cussin’ or nothin’ like that. It’s clean, real clean.
  • Is it scary? Nah, not really. There’s a little bit of action, but it ain’t gonna give the kids nightmares or nothin’. It ain’t like them horror movies, the ones with all the blood and guts. This one’s just fun and silly.
  • Will the grown-ups like it? Maybe, maybe not. It depends. If you like cats and silly jokes, you might enjoy it. It ain’t gonna win no Oscars, but it’s a good way to spend an afternoon with the kids. I laughed a few times myself, I gotta admit.

I heard some folks sayin’ it ain’t as good as the old Garfield cartoons, but I don’t know about that. My grandkids, they never seen them old cartoons, and they loved this movie. And that’s what matters, right? Keepin’ the kids happy.

So, should you take your kids to see it? Yeah, I think you should. It’s a fun, family-friendly movie. It’s got cute animals, funny jokes, and a heartwarming story. It ain’t perfect, mind you, but it’s a good time. Just don’t expect no deep thinkin’ or nothin’. It’s just a movie about a fat cat and his dog friend gettin’ into trouble. And sometimes, that’s all you need.

Now, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about Garfield made me hungry! He’s always eatin’, that cat. Makes me wanna eat too. But seriously, go see the movie. Your kids will thank ya for it.

One more thing, remember, this ain’t no fancy review. Just an old woman tellin’ ya what she thinks. Take it or leave it. But if you got young’uns, this here Garfield movie is a safe bet for a fun afternoon.

Final words? It’s a cute movie about family, even if it’s a cat, dog and a long-lost dad kinda family. Funny, not too scary, and the kids will enjoy it. Go for it.
