Okay, so the other day I was browsing Netflix, and I stumbled upon this movie called “Child’s Play,” the one with the killer doll, Buddi. And I thought, “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool to have a Buddi doll?” But, you know, not the murderous kind.

So, I started my quest. First, I hit up the usual spots – Amazon, eBay… you know, the big online retailers. I typed in “Buddi doll,” “Child’s Play movie toy,” all that jazz. I found some stuff, but a lot of it was either super expensive collector’s items or, frankly, kinda creepy-looking replicas.

My DIY Attempt

I wasn’t giving up that easily, though. I figured, “Why not try to make my own?” I’m not exactly a master craftsman, but I’m pretty handy. I googled “DIY Buddi doll” and found a few tutorials, mostly for making plush versions.

I gathered some materials – felt, stuffing, yarn for the hair, some buttons for the eyes. My wife thought I was crazy, by the way. I spent a whole afternoon cutting, sewing, and stuffing. It… didn’t exactly go as planned.

  • The felt was harder to work with than I thought.
  • The stuffing kept clumping up.
  • The yarn hair looked like a bird’s nest.

Let’s just say the final product was less “cute and cuddly” and more “nightmare fuel.” My kids wouldn’t even go near it. I ended up giving to the dog, and that was not well received either.

Back to the Drawing Board (aka the Internet)

So, my DIY project was a total bust. I went back to searching online. I dug deeper this time, checking out smaller shops, fan-made merchandise sites. It was more difficult than I thought.

I still haven’t found a good deal. Looks like I have to be more patience for this one.
