Okay, so I’ve been getting into this “Hilda” thing, you know, the cartoon that’s also a bunch of books? Man, it’s quite the ride.
It all started when I stumbled upon the Netflix show. Yeah, the one with the fearless blue-haired girl, Hilda. The show’s vibe, it’s kinda magical, you know? Hilda, she’s this adventurous kid who lives in some enchanted forest, and then bam! She moves to this city called Trolberg. I was hooked from the first episode.
- Watched the whole show in, like, a weekend. No regrets.
- Then I found out it’s based on these graphic novels by Luke Pearson. Mind blown.
- Immediately ordered the books, all of them.
The books, they’re a different beast, but in a good way. They have this raw, indie comic feel. You can really see Pearson’s style develop over the series.
Diving into the Books
I devoured those books. Each one is like a mini-adventure, just like the show. You got your magical creatures, your quirky characters, and always, always, Hilda’s bravery.
Reading the books after watching the show was cool, it’s kinda like getting the director’s cut or something. You see where the show took inspiration, and sometimes the books go in totally different directions, which is neat. The books were written by Luke Pearson.
Now I’m just here, kinda obsessed, waiting for more “Hilda” content. Seriously, if you’re into whimsical adventures and charming characters, check it out. It’s a good time, trust me. It is about a young girl who grew up with her mother in a small cabin on the edge of the woods near the walled-in city of Trolberg. Fearless and free-spirited, you know.
I finished all seasons, and there are 35 episodes. That is pretty cool. The animation is also good, and I like the voice of Bella Ramsey, who is the voice of Hilda.
