Alright, alright, let’s talk about this movie thing, this… what’s it called? Behindwoods movie review, yeah, that’s it. Don’t expect no fancy words from me, I’m just gonna tell it like it is, you know, plain and simple.

So, these movie people, they go on and on about “directorial excellence” and “audience exuberance.” Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me. What I wanna know is, is the movie good or not? Did it make me laugh? Did it make me cry? Did it make me wanna smack somebody? That’s what matters, right?

I saw this one movie, they said it was a “savvy thriller.” Savvy? What in tarnation does that even mean? Looked like a bunch of folks running around, shooting and yelling. But, I gotta say, some of them action scenes, they were somethin’ else. Made me jump outta my seat a couple of times, that’s for sure. So, I guess, despite all that fancy talk, it was kinda worth watchin’. Once.

Then there’s these “Indian films,” they say they’re the “biggest of the year.” Big, small, what’s the difference? This one fella, Ajith, I think his name was, he was fightin’ all these bad guys. And let me tell ya, he wasn’t no spring chicken, had a bit of a belly on him, but he was still beatin’ the snot outta them. Single-handedly! Now, that’s what I call entertainin’.

  • Was it believable? Probably not.
  • Was it fun to watch? You betcha.

Some movies, they try to be all smart and political. Like this “socio-political drama,” they called it. About some fella named Karnan. Honestly, I didn’t understand half of it. Too much talkin’, not enough action. But, I could tell it was important, you know? About folks fightin’ for what’s right. That’s always somethin’ I can get behind, even if I don’t get all the fancy words.

And then you got these reviews, right? Some folks say a movie’s great, some folks say it’s garbage. Confusin’ as all get-out. One fella said a movie was “a game changing masterpiece.” Masterpiece? Sounded like a bunch of noise to me. Another fella said it had “female empowerment.” Well, good for them gals, I say. But is the movie any good? That’s what I wanna know!

This “Rotten” website, they give you all sorts of numbers and ratings. Critics and fans, and averages outta ten. I guess that’s helpful, if you’re into that sort of thing. I just read a few reviews, see if folks liked it or not. Don’t pay no attention to them percentages. If it sounds interestin’, I’ll give it a watch.

They say the first half of some movies is “intriguing.” Intriguing? Means it makes you wanna keep watchin’, I guess. And sometimes, that’s enough. If a movie grabs you right from the start, well, that’s a good sign. But if it’s borin’, I’m turnin’ it off, no matter what them fancy reviewers say.

So, this Behindwoods movie review thing, I guess it’s alright. Gives you a little bit of this, a little bit of that. But at the end of the day, it’s all just opinions. You gotta watch the movie yourself and decide if you like it or not. Don’t let nobody tell you what to think. And that’s the truth, plain and simple.

Bottom line is, a good movie is a good movie. Doesn’t matter if it’s got big stars or fancy words. If it keeps you entertained, that’s all that matters. And if it don’t, well, there’s plenty of other fish in the sea, as they say.
