Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya somethin’ about them… whatchamacallit… horror movie action figures. Yeah, those little plastic things that look like monsters and such. My grandkid, he’s crazy about ’em. Always yellin’ about some “Michael Myers” or a “Freddy Krueger.” Don’t know who they are, but they sure look spooky.
Now, I ain’t no expert, but I seen a whole bunch of these figures at the store. They got all kinds, lemme tell ya. Big ones, small ones, some even bendy! My grandkid says the bendy ones are real special. They call ’em “BendyFigs” or somethin’. Said he wants one that looks like a clown. A scary clown, mind you. Not the funny kind that makes balloon animals.
- They got this one fella, looks like he got burnt real bad. Face all messed up. My grandkid says his name is Freddy somethin’.
- Then there’s this other guy, wears a mask. White mask, real plain lookin’, but it gives me the chills. They call him Michael.
- And don’t even get me started on that doll! That Chucky fella. He’s the worst of the bunch. Looks like a little kid, but he’s pure evil, I tell ya.
My grandkid, he keeps goin’ on and on about how these figures are “collectibles.” Says they’ll be worth somethin’ someday. I don’t know about that. Seems like a waste of money to me. But he’s happy, so I guess that’s all that matters. He spends hours playin’ with ’em, makin’ up stories about monsters and whatnot. He even got a whole shelf full of ’em in his room. Looks like a creepy museum, if you ask me.
I seen some of these figures online too. There’s this website, somethin’ called “BigBadToyStore.” Sounds like a place where the monsters shop, don’t it? They got a whole mess of these horror figures. Every monster you can think of, they probably got it. Jason, Leatherface, Sam from that Trick R Treat movie. My grandkid knows ’em all. He showed me some pictures. Some of them are real scary lookin’, I tell ya. Gives me goosebumps just lookin’ at ’em.
And then there’s these “Funko” things. They’re kinda different. They got big heads and little bodies. My grandkid says they’re cute, but I don’t see it. They still look like monsters to me. But they got all the horror characters too. From the old-timey monsters to the new ones. Seems like there’s a Funko for everything these days.
I tell ya, these horror movie action figures, they ain’t my cup of tea. But kids these days, they love ’em. Maybe it’s because they like bein’ scared. Or maybe they just like havin’ little plastic monsters to play with. Whatever the reason, they sure are popular. You can find ’em everywhere. Toy stores, online, even at the flea market sometimes. And they ain’t cheap neither. Some of them cost a pretty penny. But my grandkid says they’re worth it. He says they’re “limited edition” or somethin’. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds fancy. So I guess I’ll just let him collect his little monsters. As long as he keeps ’em outta my kitchen, I don’t care.
And another thing, they have these “7 scale action figures”. They’re bigger and have more details. My grandkid says they are more “realistic”. I don’t see what’s so realistic about a plastic monster, but he seems to know what he’s talkin’ about. He’s always readin’ them boxes and lookin’ up stuff online. He says some of these figures are made in China, others, I don’t know where they came from. It’s all a bunch of gibberish to me, but like I said, if it makes him happy.
So yeah, that’s what I know about horror movie action figures. Not much, I admit. But I seen enough to know they’re a big deal. If you got a kid who likes spooky stuff, then these figures are probably right up their alley. Just be prepared to spend some money. And maybe have a nightlight handy. You never know when those little plastic monsters might come to life.
And if you are looking to buy some of these figures for your young’ins, remember to always check the weight and dimensions. You don’t want to get somethin’ too big or too small. And make sure it’s the real deal too. There’s lots of copycats out there, tryin’ to sell you junk. So be careful, folks. Don’t get ripped off by some slick talkin’ salesman. And for heavens sake, keep ‘em away from my china cabinet!
