I seen ’em lookin’ at their phones, tappin’ away. “What are you doin’?” I ask. “Buyin’ a new crop top, Grandma,” they say. And sure enough, a few days later, here comes the mailman with a package. Now, I wouldn’t wear one. No sir. I like my shirts to cover me up. And I don’t need no monsters starin’ at me from my own clothes. But these young folks, they love ’em. They think they’re stylish. They tell me it’s a way to show they like horror. Like wearin’ a team jersey, but for scary movies. They see someone else wearin’ one, they know they got somethin’ in common. They can talk about their favorite movies, their favorite monsters. It’s like a little community, all built around these horror movie crop tops. They love them movies and they love them shirts. That’s what they tell me.
