Man, you won’t believe the rabbit hole I went down this weekend. It all started with me wanting a cool, unique piece for my movie room. I’ve always been a huge horror fan, right? So, I thought, why not try to snag an actual prop used in a horror movie? Sounds awesome, doesn’t it?

I started with the usual place – went straight to the web. Typed in “horror movie screen used props” and, oh boy, was I overwhelmed. So many listings, so many different websites. I mean, I was excited, but also, where do I even begin? How do I know if any of this stuff is legit?

I spent a good few hours just browsing, making a list of the sites that seemed trustworthy. There were some sketchy ones, for sure, but also a couple that looked pretty professional, with certificates of authenticity and stuff. I figured those were my best bet.

Narrowing down what I actually wanted was another challenge. There was so much cool stuff! Knives, masks, even some creepy dolls – you name it. Eventually, I found a site, looked like a big one, that had a whole section dedicated to horror movie props. I started filtering by price, not trying to go bankrupt here, and by my favorite movies. I even found a site called “Premiere Props” which claimed to sell authentic items from Academy Award-winning films.

After a lot of back and forth, I stumbled upon this one item – a screen-used strong hand from the movie “Scary Movie 2”. Remember that scene? Hilarious! I knew I had to have it. It wasn’t too expensive, and it came with all the paperwork to prove it was real. I did some quick checks on the seller, and they seemed legit. Good reviews, clear history, the works.

So, I took the plunge. I bought it! Paid with my card, got the confirmation email, and now I’m just waiting for it to arrive. I’m seriously pumped, you guys. It’s such a cool feeling to own a piece of movie history, especially something from one of my favorite horror comedies.

I’ll definitely keep you all updated when it gets here. Maybe I’ll even start a little collection. Who knows! This whole thing has been a wild ride, but a fun one. It just goes to show, if you’re passionate enough about something, and you’re willing to put in the work, you can find some pretty amazing things online.

Here are the few things I did:

  • Searched online for “horror movie screen used props”.
  • Browsed various websites and made a list of trustworthy ones.
  • Filtered props by price and favorite movies.
  • Found a screen-used strong hand from “Scary Movie 2”.
  • Verified the seller’s authenticity and made the purchase.

To be continued…

Keep your fingers crossed for me that it all goes smoothly! Wish me luck, everyone!
