Okay, so the other day I was thinking, “Man, I need some new tunes for my workout playlist, but I’m kinda bored with the usual stuff.” Then it hit me – horror movie soundtracks! Some of those are seriously intense and atmospheric, perfect for getting the adrenaline pumping. So, I dove in, and here’s how it went:
My Search Process
First, I fired up my good old search engine and typed in “horror movies with great soundtracks”.I Got tons of results instantly.
I started clicking through the top few results, mostly listicles and forum threads. Lots of familiar names popped up: “Halloween”, “Suspiria”, “The Exorcist”. Classic stuff, but I wanted to see if I could find some less obvious choices too.
Digging Deeper
I spent a good hour just browsing through these lists, jotting down any titles that sounded interesting or that I hadn’t heard of before. I also paid attention to any specific tracks or composers that were mentioned repeatedly. This helped me narrow down my search.
- I find some really cool-sounding stuff from more recent movies.
- I was particularly excited to rediscover “It Follows”
Listening and Evaluating
Then came the fun part: actually listening to the soundtracks! I mostly used music APP to find the albums or individual tracks. I’d skip through them, paying attention to the overall mood and intensity. I was looking for tracks that were both creepy and energetic – something that would keep me motivated during a workout, but also had that unsettling horror vibe.
I quickly realized that some soundtracks were better suited for different types of workouts. For example, the “It Follows” soundtrack, with its pulsing synths, was perfect for running. But the more orchestral, atmospheric stuff, like some of the tracks from “Hereditary,” might be better for weightlifting or something less cardio-focused.
Finalizing My Playlist
After listening to a bunch of different soundtracks, I started putting together my new workout playlist. I made sure to include a variety of tracks, from fast-paced and intense to slow and brooding. I also tried to mix in some of the classic horror themes with some of the more obscure finds, just to keep things interesting.
In the end, I ended up with a killer playlist (pun intended!) that’s both motivating and genuinely creepy. It’s definitely going to make my workouts more interesting, and I’ve even discovered some new favorite composers and movies along the way. Win-win!
