Alright, let’s talk about this Netflix thing, you know, the one where you watch all them movies and shows. I heard some folks callin’ it “Netflix company structure” or somethin’. Sounds fancy, but I’ll tell ya what I know, the way I understand it.
What is this Netflix thing anyway?
Well, it’s like a big store, but ‘stead of sellin’ you potatoes and eggs, they got movies and shows. You pay ’em a little bit of money every month, and you can watch whatever you want, whenever you want. They got all sorts of stuff, from them cowboy movies to them fancy shows with all the cryin’ and drama. My grandkids, they love it. Always watchin’ somethin’ on that little box, you know, the one they call a “tee-vee.”
How does this Netflix store work?
Now, this is where it gets a bit tricky. See, it ain’t just one fella runnin’ the whole shebang. They got a whole bunch of people workin’ there, doin’ all sorts of different jobs. I heard tell they got, like, hundreds of bosses, all reportin’ to the big boss, the fella at the very top.
- They got folks makin’ the movies and shows.
- They got folks puttin’ them movies and shows on that little box.
- They got folks figurin’ out how much to charge you.
- They got folks makin’ sure everything works right.
It’s like a big ol’ farm, you know? You got folks plantin’ the seeds, folks waterin’ the crops, folks harvestin’ the food, and folks sellin’ it at the market. Everyone’s gotta do their part, or the whole thing falls apart.
Who’s in charge?
Like I said, they got one big boss, the fella at the top. Then they got a bunch of other bosses underneath him, each one in charge of a different part of the business. I heard they call it a “U-form” structure, somethin’ like that. Sounds like a fancy way of sayin’ everyone reports to the top dog. It’s like how we do things in the church, you know? You got the preacher, then you got the elders, then you got the rest of us folks.
Netflix is a big deal, ain’t it?
Yep, it sure is. They got folks watchin’ their shows all over the world, millions of ’em. I heard they call it a “Oligopoly” market. That means there ain’t too many other stores like it, so they got a lot of power. It’s like havin’ the only well in town, you know? Everyone’s gotta come to you if they want water. They got competitors, sure, but Netflix is the big one. It’s like the biggest rooster in the henhouse.
What about the people workin’ there?
I reckon they gotta work hard, but I also heard they treat their folks pretty good. They don’t want no bossy-pants tellin’ everyone what to do all the time. They want folks to think for themselves and be creative. It’s like lettin’ the chickens roam free in the yard, instead of keepin’ ’em cooped up in a cage. They say it makes ’em work better, and I reckon that makes sense.
So, what’s the bottom line?
Well, the way I see it, Netflix is a big, complicated business, but it’s all about makin’ movies and shows and gettin’ ’em to folks like you and me. They got a bunch of people workin’ together, all reportin’ to the top boss, and they’re doin’ pretty darn good at it. They got millions of folks watchin’ their stuff, and they’re makin’ a whole lotta money. And that’s about all I know about this “Netflix company structure” thing. It ain’t rocket science, you know? It’s just folks workin’ together to get a job done.
And that Greg Peters fella? I heard he’s one of them big bosses. He probably tells folks what to do and makes sure everything runs smooth, like a well-oiled tractor. That’s important, you know. You need someone keepin’ an eye on things, makin’ sure the chickens don’t get into the garden, so to speak.
Anyway, that’s my take on it. It’s a big company, doin’ big things, and that’s all there is to it, as far as I’m concerned.
