Okay, here’s my experience with downloading my Netflix DVD history. I wanted to keep a record of all the discs I’ve rented over the years, so here’s how I managed to do it:
So, I started by logging into my Netflix account. Of course, you have to go to the DVD section of the website since this doesn’t apply to streaming.
Once I was in, I looked around for something like “account settings” or “profile”. I’m using a computer by the way, I am not sure I can do these settings with a phone or app.
Finding the Right Section
I found it! It’s in the account settings area. Click your Profile Icon at the top of the screen, and then choose “Account”. Once I got into the Account section, I started poking around for my DVD information.
I scrolled down to the “Profile & Parental Controls” section. Then I looked for my profile and click the little down arrow to open up its specific settings.
Viewing My DVD History
Now, inside my profile settings, I saw an option called “Viewing activity”. Ding ding ding! That sounded promising, so I clicked it.
This brought me to a page showing, you guessed it, my viewing activity. But it was a mix of streaming and DVD stuff. I only want to see the DVD, so on that page, I click the link to see the “DVDs you have watched.”
Downloading the list!
Finally! It took me straight to my DVD history. Now I finally get to the point, where I can download the list! Look for a button “Download it all”, it looks like a little downward arrow. Press it! A file will be download to my “Downloads” folder!
Opening the CSV File
The file I downloaded had a “.csv” extension. Usually, the computer will automatically open it with something like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or any other spreadsheet program.
And there it was! My entire Netflix DVD rental history, all nicely organized in a spreadsheet. Now I can keep this file, print it, or whatever I want to do with it. Mission accomplished!
