So, I finally got around to messing with my Peloton bike the other day. I heard a rumor that you could actually stream Netflix on it now. Let me tell you, it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be, but I figured it out.

First things first, I made sure my Peloton was up to date. I remember seeing something about a “System Update” option somewhere in the settings. So, I tapped into “Settings”, then found my way to “System”, and sure enough, there it was – “System Update”. I clicked on that and let it do its thing. Took a little while, but hey, gotta have the latest stuff, right?

  • Go to “Settings”
  • Find “System”
  • Tap “System Update”

After the update finished, I dove back into “Settings”. This time, I was on the hunt for Netflix. I scrolled through the options and found “Apps”. Tapped on that, and boom, there was a list of apps, including the one and only Netflix. It felt like a little victory dance was in order.

  • Back to “Settings”
  • Look for “Apps”
  • Tap on “Apps” and find “Netflix”

I clicked on the Netflix app, and it prompted me to log in. I entered my usual username and password, you know, the ones I use on my TV. Once I was in, I could browse through all the shows and movies, just like on any other device. It was pretty cool to see it all working on my bike.

Now, I did notice that it said “Beta” next to the app’s name. Apparently, they’re still testing this feature out. I guess not everyone has access to it yet, but it seems they are already rolling it out. I even saw they had some other streaming apps in beta, like Disney+ and Max. It is said that on December 13, 2023, Peloton removed the beta tag from all of the services available in the Peloton Entertainment section. I guess I am a lucky guy.

Anyway, I started up an episode of my favorite show and started pedaling. It was awesome! I could see all my stats, like my speed and resistance, right there on the screen alongside the show. It made the workout fly by.

One thing I found out is that when you watch Netflix on your Peloton, it logs it as an “Entertainment” class. Not sure if that’s how it will stay once it’s out of beta, but it’s kind of neat.

So yeah, that’s how I got Netflix working on my Peloton. It’s a pretty sweet setup if you’re looking to combine your workouts with some entertainment. I mean, who wouldn’t want to binge-watch their favorite series while getting a good sweat on? Just make sure your bike is updated, and you should be good to go!
