So, the other night I had this idea. I texted my date, “Hey, wanna come over? I just want to cuddle and watch horror movies.” Sounds a bit cheesy, I know, but it’s a classic, right?
First things first, I tidied up my place a bit. No one wants to cuddle in a mess, am I right? Then, I started thinking about which movie to watch. I mean, there’s a ton of horror flicks out there, but I wanted something that was scary enough to make us jump, but not so gross that it would kill the mood.
- “The Shining” – This one’s always a good choice. Super creepy, but not too gory, you know?
- “Beetlejuice” – I thought about this one, but it’s more funny than scary. Maybe for another night.
- “Scream” – A classic slasher. Definitely gets the heart racing.
I ended up going with “The Shining.” I figured it’s a good balance, plus it’s a classic that everyone should see at least once. After that I set up some snacks. Popcorn, obviously, some candies, and a couple of drinks. Gotta have the essentials, right?
When my date arrived, we got cozy on the couch, I hit play, and the movie started. There were definitely a few moments where we both jumped and grabbed each other. Mission accomplished, I guess. It’s kinda funny how being scared can bring people closer. We ended up chatting a bit about the movie, what we thought was scary, and other random stuff. It was nice, you know, just relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.
I think the whole “cuddle and watch horror movies” thing is a pretty good date idea. It’s simple, but it works. You get to be close to someone, share a bit of an adrenaline rush, and have some good conversation. Plus, it’s an excuse to eat popcorn, and who doesn’t love that?
At the end of the day, it’s not really about the movie, or the cuddling, or even the popcorn. It’s about spending time with someone you like and getting to know them a little better. And if a scary movie can help with that, then why not, right? That’s my take on it, anyway. It’s not rocket science, just a fun, low-key way to hang out.
