Okay, here is my blog post about how I got that movie, “It”, the 2017 version, from 123movies.
So, the other day I was really itching to watch “It”, you know, the 2017 one with the creepy clown. I had seen it before, but it’s just one of those movies you can watch again and again. Anyway, I didn’t have it on DVD or anything, and I didn’t want to pay to rent it online. That’s when I remembered 123movies.
First, I grabbed my laptop and opened up my usual browser. I typed in 123movies into the search bar. Now, the thing about 123movies is that the actual website address seems to change a lot, so it’s kind of a game of whack-a-mole to find the right one.
I clicked on a few of the search results, and after a couple of tries, I landed on a site that looked like the real deal. It had that familiar layout with rows and rows of movie thumbnails.
Finding the Movie
- Typed “It” in the search box. This was pretty easy, the website had a big search bar right at the top.
- Made sure to pick the 2017 version. There’s that newer one, “It Chapter Two,” and I wasn’t in the mood for that. I wanted the original. I spotted the one I wanted—the poster with the kid in the yellow raincoat.
- Clicked on the movie poster. This took me to the movie’s page.
Dealing with Ads
Now, this is where things get a little tricky. 123movies is free, which is great, but that means there are ads. A lot of them. Pop-ups, mostly. I’m pretty used to this, so I just patiently clicked the little “X” on each ad to close them. It took a few tries to actually get the movie to start playing because a new ad would pop up every time I clicked the play button.
Watching the Movie
Finally, after clicking through a bunch of ads, the movie started! I made some popcorn, grabbed a blanket, and settled in for a good scare. The quality was decent, not amazing, but hey, it was free. There were a few times when the movie buffered, which was a little annoying, but it wasn’t too bad overall. And a couple more ads popped up during the movie, but I just closed them and kept watching.

So, that’s how I watched “It” (2017) on 123movies. It wasn’t the most straightforward process, with all the ads and the changing website address, but I got to watch my movie in the end. I will say, if you’re not comfortable with a lot of pop-up ads, or if you’re worried about the legal stuff, it’s probably better to just rent the movie legally. But if you’re like me and you’re feeling a bit adventurous, 123movies can be an option.
