Jack Antonoff was honored as ASCAP‘s pop songwriter of the year at the performing rights organization’s 2025 Pop Awards held at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles on Thursday evening.
Antonoff was recognized for his co-writes on songs like Sabrina Carpenter’s smash hit “Please Please Please,” as well as for his work on Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero,” “Fortnight,” “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart,” “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)” and “Karma.” One of the most prolific songwriter-producers in the industry, last year he produced Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department several tracks on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX and on Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet.
Meanwhile Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control,” which was co-written by ASCAP songwriter Joshua “Ammo” Coleman and has spent a massive 88 weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, won pop song of the year. Sony Music Publishing, whose biggest tracks last year included Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and Chappell Roan’s “Hot To Go” won music publisher of the year.
ASCAP held the Pop Awards a day after hosting the organization’s Music Screen Awards on Wednesday. At the Screen Awards, Trent Reznor, Jeff Toyne, David Fleming and Nainita Desai were honored as the composer’s choice award recipients.

Other writers who took home awards Thursday included Amy Allen — who co-wrote several Carpenter songs including Espresso and who won the Grammy for songwriter of the year back in February — as well as Beyoncé, Dan Nigro, Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Justin Tranter, Justin Timberlake, Noah Khan, Dua Lipa, Shaboozey and Victoria Monet. The full list of winners is available on ASCAP’s website.
