Well, let me tell ya, this fella John Nolte, he’s got a whole heap of opinions on them movies. He watches a lot of ’em, I reckon. He’s always makin’ lists, you know? Best movies, worst movies, movies that shoulda won awards but didn’t… He even talks about them old crime movies from back in the seventies. I ain’t seen most of ’em, but he seems to know his stuff.
Now, he’s gone and done it again. This time, he’s talkin’ ’bout the best movies from the year 2000 all the way to 2019. That’s a long time, ain’t it? Fifty-three movies he picked, can you believe it? He calls ’em the “greatest,” but I dunno… Movie tastes are like pie, everyone likes a different kind. Some folks like apple, some like cherry, and some, well, they like that weird green stuff.
Anyways, this fella Nolte, he goes through ’em one by one, tellin’ ya why he thinks they’re so great. He’s got a way of talkin’ that makes you wanna watch ’em, even if they sound kinda silly. He talks about characters and stories and all that fancy movie talk. I just like a good story, myself. Something that makes you laugh or cry or maybe even think a little bit.
- He talks about movies that won Oscars, and movies that shoulda won Oscars.
- He even talks about the worst movies to ever win an Oscar. Now that’s somethin’ I’d like to see!
- And he’s got this list of movies from the 21st century… over fifty of ’em! That’s a lot of popcorn, I tell ya.
He mentions this movie about Jesse James, somethin’ about a coward. I ain’t sure what that’s all about, but it sounds kinda interestin’. And then there’s another one, somethin’ about the passion of the Christ. Now that one, I might have heard of. Seems like folks are always makin’ movies about Jesus.
This Nolte fella, he also talks about actors. Says one fella, Caan I think his name was, gave the best performance of his life in some movie. I ain’t never heard of this Caan fella, but if Nolte says he’s good, well, maybe he is. Seems like Nolte knows a lot about these Hollywood types.
He’s been doin’ this for a long time, I guess. Started way back in the nineties, online, they say. Now he’s hooked up with that Amazon company, you know, the one that sells everything? They got this movie website, IMDb they call it, and Nolte’s got his stuff there. It’s like a big ol’ library of movies, but you don’t have to go anywhere to see it. Just sit right there in your chair and click, click, click.
He even watched a movie called “Red Dawn”. Said it was from 1984. A classroom setting makes it safe and comfortable to him. I think I would have liked that movie back in the day. Wonder if the kids learned anything?
So, if you’re lookin’ for some movie recommendations, maybe you should check out what this Nolte fella has to say. He might know a thing or two. Or maybe he’s just full of hot air, I dunno. But he sure does like talkin’ ’bout them movies. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it?
