Okay, so, I’ve been on this kick lately, right? Trying to watch a horror movie for every letter of the alphabet. Sounds fun, yeah? Well, I hit the letter “D” the other day, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a doozy. Not because there aren’t any good “D” horror flicks, but just because there are so many directions you can go.

First, I started just by brainstorming, like any normal person would, I guess. I sat down, made a cup of coffee, grabbed my notebook, and started scribbling down any title that came to mind. You know, the classics like “Dracula”, that sort of thing. But then I started thinking, maybe I should be a bit more niche? So, I started looking up some lesser-known titles. And boy, did I fall down a rabbit hole.

I found this website, can’t recall the name, and they had this massive list of horror movies. I mean, everything you could ever think of. So, I filtered it down to just the “D” titles. The list was still pretty long, but it was manageable. I started highlighting the ones that sounded interesting. I ended up watching three films that stood out.

Dog Soldiers (2002)

This one was a total blast. It’s a British film about a group of soldiers on a training mission in the Scottish Highlands. They stumble upon this cabin with a wounded captain, and then all hell breaks loose. Werewolves, man. Werewolves everywhere. It’s gory, it’s funny, and it’s got some genuinely creepy moments. The werewolves reminded me a bit of another movie. Overall, good stuff. Would recommend.

Damien: Omen II (1978)

I had already watched the first one, so I thought, why not continue with the sequel? It picks up a few years after the original, with Damien now a teenager. Let’s just say, puberty hits him hard. He’s got all these crazy powers, and people around him keep dying in these elaborate, “accidental” ways. It’s not as good as the first one, in my opinion, but it’s still a decent watch. There’s a scene with an elevator that’s particularly memorable. You’ll know it when you see it. I saw the rating was pretty low, but I enjoyed it.

I was going to watch more, but honestly, I got a bit sidetracked. I know there are other good ones like “Deep Red” and “Dead Alive.” I’ve heard people rave about them. But, you know how it is. Life gets in the way, you start watching other things. I tried this other one, but it wasn’t great. I don’t even remember the full title, something about a game of truth or dare while on vacation in Mexico. It was not that good.

So yeah, that’s my “D” movie adventure so far. Not too shabby, I think. Now I gotta figure out what to watch for “E.” Any suggestions?
